You were walking home from work when it started raining. 'Brilliant' you thought as you started to walk quicker. The rain was heavy so your hair was already sticking to you face, you didn't have a coat or an umbrella. You pulled your jacket around you tightly, desperately trying to cover your white shirt up as it started to become transparent. It was another five minutes of walking until you finally reached your apartment building. You keyed in the code to get through the front door. You took the elevator up to your apartment, desperate to get out of your clothes that were clinging to your body and have a warm shower.
You got to your door and reached in your bag for your keys, when you couldn't find them, you took your bag off of your shoulder, setting it on the floor and kneeling down to search more thoroughly. You had removed the entire contents of your bag and still couldn't find your keys. "Fuck" you say exasperated. You had no idea what you were going to do. "You okay?" you hear a deep voice from behind you. You turned to see your neighbour Calum towering over you.
You had never really had a proper conversation with him before. He had introduced himself when you moved in, and said hello when you passed him in the hallway but you had never really gotten to know him. It wasn't that you didn't want to, he seemed like a nice guy and he was extremely attractive, he just never seemed interested in you so you kept your distance.
"No I've lost my keys, and they're probably at work so now I'm gonna have to go all the way back to get them" You rambled frustrated at the idea of going back out in the rain. You sigh and begin to pack all of your belongings back into your bag.
"I am not letting you go back outside in this weather, you are already soaking wet" he says sternly.
"Well I'm not going to sleep in the hallway" you say confused as to what he was implying, and as to why he suddenly cared about you going outside, he hasn't shown the slightest interest in you before.
"No you're going to sleep with me" he says, you stare blankly at him, he quickly realises what he just said and his cheeks turn slightly pink. He chuckles. "I mean ahh-" he begins to ramble nervously "What I meant was you can stay at my place, I'll sleep on the couch" He says
"I don't want to be any trouble" You say.
"Well you're not going back outside, I forbid it" he says seriously.
"Oh you forbid it do you?" You say sarcastically. His serious face lifts to a small smile as he leads you towards the door of his apartment. He opens it and leads you inside. His apartment was very similar to yours just slightly tidier.
"Do you mind if I use your shower?" You ask quietly.
"Yeah it's just through here" He leads you to his bedroom "Um I'll get you a towel and some dry clothes" he says scratching the back of his head as you turn away from him and begin to unbutton your shirt. "Thanks" you say as he leaves the room. You peel your clingy clothes from your body before going through to the bathroom to shower.
