Hey, I don't know many of you out there have or read Miss Peregrine's Home for Children, but if you did, then you'll probably answer this.
While I was going MPHfPC fanart on deviantART, I saw this picture (might take if creator wants me to):
And I was really curious, so I clicked on it and this is what the description said;
"So for those of you in the Miss. Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children Fandom, I'm sure you'v seen the trailer for the movie adaptation by Tim Burton. I typically get extremely nervous when they consider a book series to be filmed for the big screen. In my opinion, they did justice to the Hunger Games and Divergent series, and the Maze Runner adaptation was pretty good as well. I understand with movie adaptations they need to change a lot of details and we can't expect them to be spot on to the book descriptions or what we all picture in our minds, but with the Peculiar Children trailer, I can't help but be extremely bugged by one thing: WHY DID THEY SWITCH EMMA AND OLIVE'S POWERS?! Like, Emma is supposed to be the "girl on fire"!! GAH! And the fact that they changed all the ages so drastically bugs me too. They made Bronwyn a very little girl, when she is supposed to be one of the older kids along with Emma, Jacob, Hugh, and Fiona!
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's going to be a great movie, and I have nothing against the actors, but when comparing it to the book, there are already so many things that have been changed!
I'll still be seeing the film, but I will always imagine the characters as they are described in the book, as well as depicted pretty accurately in the graphic novel version."
Now you guys, is this true? If so, then is there any reason why they would do this? I mean, unless they have a good reason, there's no point switching Emma and Bronwyn's powers. Like, did they wanted Emma to look cooler or something like that?
But anyway, see ya.
