[Warning: Contains very MAJOR spoilers for the entire Land of Stories series. Be cautious of being spoiled.]
Soo..
The cover for the Land of Stories 6: Worlds Collide came out and well, as the release date grows near,I want to talk about my thoughts about before it comes out.
The Cover
For one, it's really...colorful, I have to say.
Okay, fine. I know it sounds really stupid to say, but it's kinda ironic considering how Book Five ended; with the refugees in the fairytale world turned into stone, Alex probably becoming evil and the government finding magic in New York.
Oh yeah, here's the Book 6 cover, in case if you haven't seen it yet.
Yeah, it's really pastel-ish, in a way. But that's just my opinion. I also like the white and purple palette, which is different from the usual gold and some other color palette. It's a nice different change of pace.
(I hope it has an actual war than the Blood of Olympus . I mean, that book had like 502 pages, which is longer than the Last Olympian and Serpent's Shadow and the war was just the Greek and Roman demigods throwing weapons at each other. Like really?)
But anyway, here's my analysis on it.
-on the left side, it seems like Froggy might appear, tho I don't know how he would fit into the story. I guess, the gang decides to like, take him along or something like that? Or he-
"StARCOUNTING! WILL YOU STOP BUGGING Chilea ABOUT MEDUSA APPEARING IN THE LAND OF STORIES? I mean, isnt there another mythology creature that turns people into stone by looking at them? Like the basilisk?"
First of all, the basilisk doesn't turn people into stone; it just kills them.
Second, there's hints that could might be Medusa.
A) When Alex and Conner find the Fairy Council, Trix says this:
B) The monster was said to be a "creature of legendary power" according to the Masked Man. Now, I know this may sound confusing to you, but to be honest; this can't be the basilisk since it isnt
C) "They heard hissing and rattling coming from a large silhouette." Hissing and rattling? Like a SNAKE?
(Well, that sounded lame in my head.)
D) The....um........snake lady(?) on the cover seems to resemble Medusa herself. After all, she got she has the same snake hair and even that expression Medusa makes when she's turning people into statues.
But as I was saying, Medusa seems....scared(?) by her body, I think? I don't know
-I actually thought the person on the bottom left corner was a new character or something
Then I realized that it was Morina, considering the fact she's the only character with horns.
Or maybe it is a new character. Who knows?
-it's pretty obvious it's Emeralda on the bottom right hand corner, right? I mean, it fits her description perfectly (Green dress? Check. Green eyes? Check. Black? Check. Seems to have high authority? Check.)
-For one thing, Arthur's definitely be in it, one way or another. Dont ask. Also, the right hand bar shows him pulling a sword from a gigantic stone, which can be the famous Sword in the Stone, meaning that Arthur becomes king.
However, could he have a major role in this book?
Well, for one thing, he is on the cover. And it's not like Chris put him there for the sake of it. I mean, most of the characters on the covers end up somewhat important to the plot (like most of them end up helping Alex and Conner or killing them.)
But, for another thing, could he reverse the curse on Alex? After all, they do say love could solve any problem. Not to mention, there's this chapter;
Or maybe Conner's the one to break it, 'cause you know "platonic love counts as true love too" or something like that. I dunno,
Okay, now for the main things about the plot.
1. Alex.
"But what about Alex?"
Well, for one thing, I think everyone else knows that Alex is gonna go Ezmia 2.0 due to Morina putting the magic dust on her in the "Alex Alone" chapter. After all, the dust was supposed to make Alex all evil and go against her friends and destroy the world for the witches.
Yeah, note that this has very major spoilers.
Now, given the information of Chapter One told us(if you didn't read last chapter), Alex seems aware that she's been cursed by Morina (well, she doesn't actually know Morina, since they've never met in person) and had been doing really bad things for them.
Now, I kinda wanna see what happens after the "Alex Alone" chapter. I wanna see how Alex react being treated as a weapon for the witches.
(Please, please let Alex be in the epilogue or else. Or at least a mention or cameo. If she doesn't, someone might die.)
2. The government. Obviously, it's not like they're gonna be like "oh people with magical powers from another dimension are invading our world no deal at all". Because anyone will FREAK THE GODDAMN OUT if they see AN ARMY OF FUCKING FICTIONAL CHARACTERS WITH MAGICAL POWERS THAT CAN DESTROY THEM in 50 MINUTES-
Okay, I'm sorry, but I had let it out. I just wanted to say that. I mean, after Book 4's ending, I just see how the government deal with a situation like this, since it has great potential. im not sure that concept was already done, but I look forward to seeing this.
Also, pls let the fairy tale world gang react to the modern world. Please have them dress in modern/casual clothing (if there's any TLOS fan artist wanting to do this concept someday, then go ahead!). Please have Bob give Red, Jack and Goldilocks driving lessons and Goldilocks being the one who drives kinda good but is really bad at turning , Jack being the one drives really really fast and Red actually being a pretty good driver. (Idk why, but I really like that idea.)
