They woke up.
He knew they would, as much as it scared him to.
He knew what would happen.
So did Phil. They sat, side by side, unclean hair still identical, in an uneasy, yet calmingsilence. No words were needed, they'd said everything they needed to, done everything they had to doin the time they had. Time was short, and was close to running out for Dan and Phil.
It had happened before you know, to the pair they'd used their Oyster cards to go visit. Chris and PJ.Dan had found out first of course, and found it near impossible to tell Phil. But Phil deserved to know, how could Dan keep it from him?
So, he cried, and through choked sobs, he explained.
They were dead; they'd been found.
Phil didn't speak for days after, aware that, if they were found, they're be dead too, with no one to mourn them. No one would care. They'd made sure of that themselves.
No one would miss criminals, after all.And so, they sat, waiting, listening out for the final words they'd hear, because they'd been caught.
And anyone who is caught, dies.
