Chapter 10

Sophie's POV

It had been a week since Brandon and I were over. Luna doesn't have to babysit me anymore because the night Brandon came over I told her off until she cried. I still can't stop thinking about Hunter so a lot has happened this week.

I quickly snap out of my thoughts and start to get ready. I just throw on some jeans and a tank top. I throw on my pair of white converse on.  I took my phone and left the house. I didn't really feel like biking so I just walked over to school.

Once I got to school I saw Loren by my locker waiting for me.

"Finally you don't have Luna following you like she's your little dog." Loren said smiling. I get my books and we got to first period.

"Okay class we are going to be having an out of school group project!" Mrs. Baron said and everyone rolled there eyes. I hope I got to work with Loren or anyone other than Brandon.

"I'm picking your partners and you have to work with them." She said and everyone groaned. She pulled out a long list of names and I looked at Loren, hoping we got to work together.

"Okay let's get started Ava and James, Ryan and Loren, Sophia and Brandon.........." My heart sank. She went on with the list and the project details but I couldn't focus. I was going to have to work with Brandon ugh. I could feel him staring at me.

After class he walked over to my locker. Great.

"Soph, do you wanna walk over to my house after school?" He asked starring at me. I couldn't help but look at his green eyes and blush.

"Yea, sure....whatever's fine." I answered back awkwardly. He smiled a little bit, he started to walk away but then he had one more thing to say.

"Oh yea can you bring the supplies too?" He asked. I rolled my eyes a little bit. I nodded my head and shut my locker.

After school I couldn't even hang out with Loren because I had the stupid  project. I had to go to Brandon's house and start planning.  We both walked inside and I could see Hunter's  confused face. I mouthed to him 'it's a project' and he understood.

"Okay babe-" Brandon said but then stopped himself. "Sorry force of habit." I just sat there awkwardly. We worked on our project a little bit and then I got hungry.

"I'm going to grab a snack."I said taking something out of the fridge. Hunter came out next to me and then just kissed me. Whaaaaaaaaa? I thought. I broke the kiss quickly before anyone saw.

"Sophie, I just don't like you like that." He said.

"Yeah same, I guess it was a one time thing." I answered truthfully. I grabbed a bag of chips for Brandon and sat back down. I started to work and could feel Brandon staring at me.

"Um yes?" I asked annoyed. I really didn't want to get back together with him and I'm still pissed for what he did.

"Sophie, I still like you a lot." He said reaching for my hand but I moved it quickly upset. I just couldn't do it again.

"Brandon you really hurt me, I think it's better we stay friends." I said tearing up a little bit. He turned away and didn't even  look me.

"Its getting late anyway, I think you should go." He said storming up to his room.  I grabbed my books with an uneasy feeling in my stomach going back home.

I sat down on my bed and cried for what I just did.
