Riley

I woke up to my alarm going off and I hit the snooze button, then rolled over on my side. I wasn't ready for today, I had the longest weekend ever and I was still tired from it. I rolled out of bed and walked into the bathroom. My hair was sticking out on all sides and I had no idea how I was going to tame this mess.

I just pulled it up in a bun while I washed my face and got ready for school. I put on some jeans, a Blink 182 hoodie, and converse. I went back to the bathroom, applied some concealer and mascara and then attempted to tackle my hair. I pulled it out of the bun and quickly straightened it.

I turned out my lights, grabbed my bag and headed downstairs. I grabbed a muffin and poured myself some milk, I knew Michael would be here any minute so I had to down the milk fast.

"Running late, I see." Mom said.

"Yeah, I overslept, as usual."

She chuckled and shook her head. I heard the doorbell and kissed her on the cheek as I ran out of the kitchen. I opened the door to see Michael standing there.

"Ready to go?" He asked.

"Yep." I said as I walked past him and to his car.

"Well good morning to you too." He said as he followed me to the car.

"Sorry I just hate being late."

"Yeah I know." He said laughing.

We both got in the car and headed for school. I gave Michael half of my muffin to make up for not saying good morning to him and it seemed to help.

"Okay so I wanna study after school today." He said.

"What? Really?" I asked.

"Yeah, let's go to our spot. We have an English test on Thursday and I wanna get at least a B on it."

"Okay, but what about school doesn't matter because I'm gonna be a rockstar?" I said.

"I mean I feel like I should at least give somewhat of an effort. Besides it'll look better if I have to come back and finish school. At least I tried."

"Works for me." I said.

"Great." He smiled and then reached his hand over and intertwined our fingers together. We pulled into the school parking lot and just as I was about to get out, his grip on my hand tightened.

"Aren't you forgetting something?" He asked with a smirk.

I chuckled and then leaned over, planting a kiss on his lips. He smiled and let go of my hand, so I could get out of the car. I grabbed my bag and walked into the school. I walked over to my locker and started exchanging what books I needed for first period and what I could get after lunch.

"Hey Riley." Dustie said.

"Hey, what's up?" I asked.

"Oh nothing except that Michael is the biggest jerk ever." She crossed her arms and leaned against my locker.

"What did he do?"

"He was rude to me!" She practically yelled.

"Michael? Why?"

"Okay so I was defending him and the boys because they were getting hate for being in the band and I freaking stood there and defended them and he said "Well it doesn't matter," and then walked off. I mean who does that?"

"And when did this happen?"

"Last night, in my dream."

I slammed my locker shut and looked over at her. She had to be kidding.

"This all happened in a dream? Are you serious right now?"

"Yes I am! It felt so real and you know that sometimes dreams really are signs of the future. So it could happen."

"Oh my gosh Dustie get a grip. Dreams aren't real and they never happen. Just calm down."

"What if you had a dream that he was rude to you, how would you feel?"

"Dude it was a dream, so shut up about it."

She rolled her eyes at me. "Fine, but the second he says one rude thing to me, I'm bringing it up."

I had to just laugh at her and then the boys came walking up. She took on look at Michael and snarled her nose and crossed her arms.

"Hey Dustie." He said, but she said nothing. Michael gave me a confused look and I just rolled my eyes in disgust.

"She's mad at you." Calum said.

"Why? What did I do?" Michael asked her, but she still wouldn't say anything. I sighed in frustration and just told him.

"She had a dream that she was defending you and the boys but you didn't seem to appreciate it and you were rude to her and now she's mad."

"Seriously?" He said looking at her.

"Yep." She said and then just walked off. We all stood there and watched her strut down the hallway, she was acting weirder than normal.

"What the heck is wrong with her?" Calum asked.

"I have no idea but I have a feeling it's more than just a dream that's making her like this." I said.

I walked into my first period class and sat down in my usual spot behind Dustie. She didn't say anything as I sat down. I leaned over and whispered to her.

"I know that there's more going on here than just the dream."

"I don't know what you're talking about." She said.

"Dustie, you're literally mad at him because of a stupid dream?!"

"He was rude to me!"

"Okay so what? He would never be rude to you in real life."

"Whatever." She huffed and I just let it go. I didn't feel like fighting with her over something so stupid. I knew there was way more to this than just the dream.

As soon as school was over, Michael and I got in his car and headed up to the cliff. I had never seen him so excited to study, although I knew that we would probably get no studying done. I didn't care, I was just happy to be spending time with him.

We made it to our spot and got out. We sat under the tree we always sat under and I pulled out my books, Michael did the same.

"You sure are eager to study." I said.

"Yeah, well I just wanna do good on this test."

"Okay well lets get started. What are you having the most trouble with?"

"The kinds of sentences. I just can't get them for some reason."

"Okay, not a problem. We can just make up sentences for each type. You can go first. Say what kind of sentence, then say the sentence and I'll go along with it."

"Alright, interrogative, Riley will you be my girlfriend?"

My eyes got wide and I just stared at him. I was pretty sure he was being serious but then again he could be just saying that for the little game we were playing with the sentences, either way I was smiling like an idiot but I was able to pull myself together and come up with a sentence.

"Exclamatory, Yes Michael I would love to be your girlfriend!"

A huge smile spread across his face. "Declarative, I was hoping for that."

I moved closer to him and wrapped my arms around his neck. "Imperative, kiss me."

"Don't have to tell me twice." He smirked and then he leaned in and kissed me. And once again things just couldn't seem to get any more perfect.
