I gulped. I didn't think I would go to Alynn and Asher's house. But their moms are so nice! I had to stay and explain.
"I'm not sure if they want to have me continuously or just saw me and knew my phone number- shit, that's creepy, but they hit me in the head with a rock," I told them. Victoria looked at me apologetically and Emma just looked behind her shoulder with a worried look on her face. "But when I woke up- I was in a garage. I knew because of the garage door and the red car next to me. When my vision became less blurry I started to look for a way out and used logic to get out. I slid under the garage door and ran half a mile, here." I finished.
"You must have been through a lot," Victoria smiled, rubbing my back. "Alynn, go get the house phone, will you? She needs to call her parents."
I thanked her for the quadrillionth time and she just kept saying she was sorry I had to go through that and that I could always come here again if I needed help. I just nodded.
When Alynn came back, a grey Nokia phone (house phone) was in his hand, and he gave it to me.
"Thanks," I muttered. I quickly dialled my moms number.
"Hello?" My mother said in a panicky tone.
"Mom?" I whispered.
"Avery, baby is that you? I'm so worried! Where are you! You should have been home hours ago and when we went to the park your phone and book and bag was there but not you! Where have you been? It's been a day!" My mom said, in a very, very, panicky tone.
"I've been gone a day...?" I whispered more to myself than my mom. She said yes.
"Mom."
"Where are you?!" She yelped.
"Mom- I'm at Alynn and Asher Dawn's house right now. Do you know Victoria?" I asked. Our town was small.
"I sure do! I'll be there in 10 and you better tell me everything when I get there! I'm bringing Jonah, too." She screamed and hung up. I set the phone down and thanked them again.
"I'm finished!" Ella sang and she put a pan on the table with a stir-fried dish. "It was the quickest dish I could make." She smiled. She put a plate, a fork, and a cup of water in front of me and started putting food on the plate.
"Oh, thank you, you really don't have to."
"Nonsense! I'm feeding you and you're eating. End of conversation." I just nodded and picked up my fork. I took a scoop of the meat and vegetables and put it in my mouth. My mouth started to water. This was the best stir-fry that I have ever tasted in my life.
"Ohmygosh! This is so good!" I moaned. I seriously loved this. The meat had just the right spices as if she knew what fit my taste buds perfectly. The vegetables and meat were cooked to perfection, made just for me.
I continued to eat and drink the water which was just the right temperature for me (A little below 5 ice cubes of water). I was eating heaven on earth at my crush's house.
Wait, what? Oh right, you used to have a ginormous crush on Asher. Oops. And his mother makes spectacular food. And my mother just knocked on the door.
Wait- my mother just knocked on the door! I finished eating hurriedly and raced to the door, getting there faster than the school's quarterback. The crying started. I swung open the door and hugged my mother.
She flinched, and I saw Jonah behind her, but I just closed my eyes and put my head on her shoulder. I sobbed. I knew Victoria and Emma and Alynn and Asher and Jonah were watching me, but I didn't care. My mother put her hand on my back and started rubbing.
"Mom..." I whimpered.
"Shh. Whatever happened, I'm here for you." She replied. I sobbed into her shoulder again.
A few minutes later, I pulled away. I looked at my mother.
"Now tell me what happened, sweetie."
I nodded and started to explain to my mother. When I was done, I was crying. My mother ran her hand up and down my back in a comforting way. The boys just looked at me in awe.
"The worst thing is, that when I was unconscious, I don't even know what they did to me. But I feel sick. I don't want to know what happened." My mother just nodded her head in agreement and hugged me.
I cried on her shoulder for a few minutes.
"Alright, well, we should get going right?" My mother said. I nodded.
"Thank you so much, Victoria, you all are life savers." I glanced at the family.
"It's no biggy." She smiled at me.
Then, we escorted ourselves out of the house and into the car.
And for the first time in two days, I felt safe.
