Ayana's pov

That first day was a complete nightmare that I was unable to wake from. And it all started at the cracks of dawn...

"Alright," a different guard yawned "up an' at 'em... you'se got a busy day today. First ya gotta pick yer preferred weapons and I'd suggest you try 'em all out before choosing one"

I nodded, knowing my prediction was correct "so you are training us stock be soldiers then considering that only the officials get access to weapons?"

With a nod he lead us through the heavy door that locked us in last night. It looked just like a weapon shop with rounds upon rows of weapons and it seemed like a never ending supply of them.

"You get to choose three, dependin' on yer strengths. I'd recommend at least one ranged weapon so then you can 'andle any situation but tha's up to you... training ground is through the door to yer left. Have fun." He left us to ourselves

"Well... I do not know about you, but I am personally better with melee weapons" Francis stated

"I don't know..." I stared in awe at all of the weapons.

There were so many choices. A variety of guns, bows and arrows, swords and even the occasional dagger and other weapons that I have never seen before. After looking around at the choices, three weapons in particular called to me. An oak wood bow with a leather quiver of arrows, a simple dagger and... a shotgun.

I tried them all out on the training ground. I already knew how to handle a shotgun after... the incident but I seemed to be a natural archer and the dagger was just a precaution in case I come into hand-to-hand combat. I was happy as one of the other guards told us to grab a supply belt as I fitted the quiver and the shotgun over my back and places my dagger in one of the item slots on the belt. It wasn't easy... or comfortable either. That is why I was grateful when I was introduced to an enchanted item.

"Here, take this" one guard threw me a leather jacket "it'll hide your wings and allow you to carry your weapons easier."

"Thanks," I responded, meaning it "it'll make makes things much more simple"
I took off the gun and the quiver placing the jacket over my wings. It didn't seem like anything happened but sure enough my wings were out of the way and I could put items along my back. I knew that it was a warlocks work, a friend of mine explained how all of the non-humans have a unique ability. Angels fly, witches brew, werewolves transform and warlocks cast. That was the way our world worked after the angelic war.

"Sure you aren't gonna try them out?" Francis appeared from nowhere.

"Something about these weapons tell me that I won't have to."

"Well they are gonna be putting us in a simulation to test our abilities so I hope you're ready"

At that moment one of the guards appeared from nowhere and took us into an empty room. I feared what was going to happen as I never liked empty rooms.

"You are now going to go through a survival stimulation. You have to survive two hours in the wilderness where wild beasts roam free." The female guard explained "If you have a weapon that requires ammunition then you will have what you have. Now relax and put this on" she gave us a headset of some sort.

A light flickered and I was left alone in the city before the destruction of the war.

The angelic war: a time where angels fought against humans for the longest time, a battle of beliefs and there was one person, an angelic child, who caused the destruction of almost all angels.

That child was me.
