Kirstin's pov

I was right. The guard lead us to where the boy, who brought myself and Ayana here, was. There was a girl, clearly younger than Frank, who had eyes that were red from crying.

"Please... you don't have to do this" the girl pleaded looking at Francis.

"Shush Holly. You know this must be done." One of the guards scolded

"No it doesn't! They don't have to kill us. There is always the chair." The girl who I assumed to be Holly cried.

"This is more efficient"

"She is only a child. You expect me to kill someone who has done nothing wrong!" Francis yelled, his blue eyes filled with rage.

"I know what you're doing," I turned my back to the others, trying to act like Ayana so to not alert them that I am a different person "This is a test of our emotional strength. Francis, remember it's likely that we are the only angels left. They brought us here and the higher ups are gonna make us kill 'em one way or another. They'll tamper with your mind if you don't do what they want. Do you want to keep the little happiness left in your mind or do you want those to be killed as well?"

Francis looked at me blankly. He must realise that I am acting because the Kirstin he knows would kill Frank without a second thought.

"You're right Ayana. But I don't want to hurt her," Francis looked away, his blonde hair blocking my view of her face.

He indicated to the gun that I carried. He wanted it, that I knew so I gave it to him. With one swift movement she was out cold and that was when he grabbed the sword from his belt and stabbed the girl, ending her life.

"So... what about me?" Frank asked "gun, bows or dagger?"

"I'll give you the last choice of your life." I responded.

"The bow then. Can I just whisper something to you though?" He asked and I approached him, my ear close to his mouth "I know you are not Ayana, the look in your eyes they tell me."

That got to me. I stepped back placing an arrow in the bow, aiming and firing. I knew I had to let Ayana through, but not yet though it had to be soon.

"Come on. The leader wants to see you. But he has a thing about jackets so you're gonna have to take them off."
