Annabeth's corpse laid dead in Percy's arms. The love of his life had been killed right in front of his eyes. The torture, the screams all echoed in his ears. The pain was unbearable and impossible to stop. The happiest day of his life turned into the worst day of his life when he realized that the victory of the war had caused a fatal sacrifice.

He wished nothing more than to join her in the Elysium, but he knew she wouldn't want him to join.

Percy Jackson had won, but he felt like he had lost his world. A twenty year old boy seemingly went through a thousand years of his life in just a few years. He had been engaged to his fiancée and there she laid taken from his fingers.

"Are you sure about this, Percy?" Artemis asked, concerned for his health.

"I'm certain," he said. "I want to join the Hunt. I want to shun away love, and I want to fight for justice. For the death of my friends."

"A very noble thing," Artemis said. "Then repeat the words of my oath: I pledge myself to the Goddess Artemis. I turn my back to love and lust, to fight for justice and Olympus, and join the Hunt." (Yes I changed the words, but otherwise it wouldn't have fit)

Percy recited the words, "I pledge myself to the Goddess Artemis. I turn my back to love and lust, to fight for justice and Olympus, and join the Hunt."

Thunder boomed in the distance as Percy noticed a silver glow.

Percy's clothes turned into a black jacket with a hood and black athletic pants complete with black sports gloves. Two silver daggers were sheathed at his sides and a bow hung on his back along with silver arrows.

"You are now immortal, and have been given the blessing of Artemis. You should notice enhanced skills in archery and stealth," Artemis explained. "Now go join the others. We have a mission to complete. But first, I believe Annabeth deserves a proper burial."

Percy picked Annabeth up leading her body to where her casket laid, forged by the cyclopses and Hephaestus himself. Tears rolled down his eyes as they all went to camp to host a proper burial for Annabeth.

And thus began, the story of Percy Jackson the Hunter.
