“This is boring.” A teenager muttered under his breath as he stared outside the classroom window. His friend’s class was having PE now, and he found it more entertaining watching them than listening to a lecture on World War I. While it was an important event in history, he found the Second World War to be more interesting. He readjusted his gaze and stared at himself in the mirror. His black hair was all over the place, as always. People always called him Mr. Bedhead for it, but he didn't mind. It looked good, and that's what mattered to him.

He was pulled away from his train of thought, however, upon feeling his Cellphone vibrating in his pocket. He pulled it out and was greeted by a text from his friend, Shoko. “Meet me at the mall after school, I have to show you something.” He wondered what it was for a moment before unlocking his phone. Just as he began to type a reply, his teacher called him out.

“Mr. Hazama, would you mind telling me just what exactly triggered the events that started World War I?”

With a sigh, he placed his phone on top of his desk and stood up. “Sir, it was the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand at the hands of Gavrilo Principe.” He took his seat again as his professor began to drone on and on about the same things over and over. Glancing at the clock situated on top of the smart board, a small smirk came onto his face. Just two more minutes until the bell rung, two more minutes. If he had to make an estimate, they’d be dismissed by the time his professor finished the current paragraph he was reading.

And just as he had predicted, the bell rang not a word after the professor finished.

“All right class, for your assignment, I’d like you to type up a short report on why the Archduke’s assassination caused World War I, due next meeting. Also, we’ll be having our midterms the week after next so be sure to study, alright? Class dismissed.”

With that, the teen stood from his desk, grabbed his bag from underneath and lazily swung it over his left shoulder. “Yo, Yuki! You wanna go grab a drink, bro?” his classmate, Taku, asked him. With a sullen smile, he shook his head. “Sorry, but I already promised Shoko I’d meet up with her after school.” he replied. Before Taku could say anything, Yuki had already made his way out the door.

“Well that solidifies my theory that Yuki and Shoko are dating.” Taku said as he pulled out his phone.

“Let’s see, girl with a yellow cardigan. Yellow cardigan, yellow cardigan, come on.” Yuki muttered, his head turning left and right and vice versa looking for his friend Shoko. No luck, he’s seen a lot of people at the mall today and still no sign of his friend. He wondered where she could be. Just as he was about to turn around, two hands covered his eyes, and he suddenly felt a weight pressing on his back. Usual Shoko.

“Guess who?” a feminine voice whispered.

 “Mami Sasazaki?” he replied absentmindedly.

“It’s me, dumbass.” Shoko answered along with a kick to the back of his foot.

“Ow, watch it!” he replied and took a step forward. Turning around, he was greeted by the smiling face of his truant classmate, Shoko. As he opened his mouth to speak, she cut him off.

"Come on, there’s no time to waste.” she said, grabbing him by the hand and heading towards the parking lot.

He felt her hand wrapped tightly around his, and a small blush came onto his face. Shaking his head, he glared at her and pulled his hand away before proceeding to move to her side. “I can move by myself, you know.”

“Yeah well, you’re always going to be that kid who needs to be dragged around by his more responsible friend to me, so deal with it.” she smirked and lightly punched him on the shoulder before walking once more.
