"Geez Shoko, you're late." Saki opened the door to come face to face with the brunette who let out an awkward laugh. Her eyes narrowed and she let out a scowl before her face changed into that of joy. "Just kidding, come on in! As you can see, Emi and Ria are already here."
"Shoko! Glad to have you!" Emi chimed with a wave, then proceeded to pat the beanbag next to hers.
Shoko accepted the cheerful girl's invitation and took the seat. She leaned back to see Ria cuddled up nicely on Saki's recliner and she let out a wave, one that was returned in kind.
Saki followed suit, a half eaten bar of chocolate in her hands. "So Shoko, how was cooking with the parental unit?" She spoke in between mouthfuls of chocolate, "Cook anything that maybe we could mooch off of? Pizza's pretty expensive, you know." She chuckled, wagging a finger at her friend.
"Cooking?" The brunette absentmindedly asked and upon seeing Saki's brow raise, perked up. "Oh yeah! We prepared a ton of octopus and eggs, my relatives are big fans of those!" She brought her backpack to her front and procured a bento from deep within. "Here, we also had an abundance of rice balls, so I snuck some for us." With a smile, she opened the box and presented it to her friend. Twelve rice balls were packed neatly one after the other presented in two rows of six. There were six slices of pickles on the side, with four pieces of egg rolls on the other. "I have two more of these, so help yourselves!"
Thank God for twenty-four hour convenience stores.
"Oh wow, you didn't actually have to bring us any, you know. I was only kidding about the pizza." Saki swallowed the lump of chocolate in her mouth and took the box the brunette was holding up. She took a whiff, and a delighted smile graced her features. "Still, these smell really good Sho!"
Ding!
"Speaking of food, that should be our pizza." Ria stood from her seat and pulled out a few bills from her wallet. Sensing the brunette's gaze, she spoke with a shrug, "It's my turn to pay this time. I guess that means next week is yours." A small smirk formed on her face as she walked to the door.
"So Shoko, you like Disney movies?" Emi turned her gaze to Shoko, who nodded. "Good then!" A smile came to her face as she pulled out a hard drive from her bag. "See, deep within the confines of this drive hides my ever growing movie collection, and my newest addition is Frozen!" She thrust the drive into the air with a triumphant smile.
"Oh? What's that one about?" The brunette asked. A soft smile soon began to grow on her face as she realized that not only Saki, but Emi and also Ria were fun to hang out with.
"What? Have you been living under a rock? I mean, this movie's been out for a few months already, you know!" Emi chuckled. "You seriously don't, do you?"
The brunette shook her head, somewhat embarrassed.
"Okay, so it's about a pair of sisters right? But the thing is, one of them has total control over ice, so she lives a life of isolation for like, a lot of years since she's afraid of hurting people." Emi's eyes gleamed with excitement, earning a chuckle from the brunette.
"That seems like a waste of super powers, you know?" Shoko put her bag to the side and leaned back on the beanbag.
"What would you know about it anyway?" Emi chuckled as she lightly shoved the brunette's shoulder. "If I woke up with super powers, I'd be scared, yeah. It's probably the most normal reaction."
"Maybe, but what would I know anyway?" Shoko chuckled, more at the irony of her statement than at anything else.
