Chapter 1 - Let's Play A Game

7 years later.   

It's not everyday that the people of Geo got to enjoy a new contact sport, but with the rise of custom prosthetics and body replacement Valadisk just grew into one organically. Guys with enhancements where too strong and fast to play regular baseball and football. So something new was invited to showcase there particular talents.

It came as of no surprise when Valadisk was elected the new national pastime. Over the last decade it had evolved into the newest craze and everyone was getting into it, jerseys, toys and other memorabilia was being printed non stop. Consumers couldn't get enough!

    The Game was named for the unique ball it was played with. Players handled  a sphere the size of a volley ball that could be also flattened into a disk to be hurled at greater distances. This is the Valadisk. To begin scoring points, a team must first open there goal, also known as a Strike Zone. This is done by keeping the Valadisk away from the other team for a total of three and a half minutes. After the Strike Zone is opened, the Striker then tries to score as many points as possible before it closes again at the end of the thirteen minute cycle. A match consist of three cycles but occasionally a game would run long and go into a fourth.

    With the big announcement came the creation of the GVA, the Geo Valadisk Association.  Six of the nine districts in Geo had the resources to sponsor teams of there own. District 3's team the Knights was also the official team of  GeoMod Industries, no doubt they had too if the line everything. They had the best equipment, the best technicians they even had there own stadium built where they where free to practice at anytime. This was where today's game was being held. The tension in the huge stadium had began to increase as a few people in the crowd got wind of something, the applause grew into an eruption from there.

The Knights where returning to the field.

    The crowd roared as Geo's number one Valadisk team begin to flow out onto the well lit auditorium.  In a few minutes the second cycle would be beginning. So far they had scored six points while there opponents fought an uphill battle to get two. The Knights looked extremely confident. The seven men quad  broke into a light jog as they the got farther from the locker room. The crowd went crazy!

    Gaston sat in the large stadium dressed in a simple tee shirt and all most too tight jacket. His Afro has been well groomed so that it was faded in the back but the front sat out a little farther than his fore head. He stuck a pick in his hair and adjusted the poofiness with his other hand. When he was done he looked as if he remembered where he was and then quickly got bored of the thought.
He lazily looked over the team down below him. It was composed of four Guards, two Fencers and one Striker. Each of the players had voluntarily amputated various parts of there bodies to be modified to play so it was easy for Gaston to tell them apart from one another.

    The four Guards were the biggest of the players built like abnormally large line backers. There job was to protect there team mates and prevent the opposing Fencers from stealing the Validisk.
    Just as they made there way across the field all four of the Guards activated there floating 3D Printers. The red white and blue orbs floated around there players momentarily tracking there location before they began to materialize a robotic exoskeleton around each one.

    Gaston scoffed.

    The players where already big, but the Exoskeleton were monstrous, mostly white with red and blue designs and highlights along the body. The players referred to them as Zepts. They enhanced the players strength. They made them much bigger and faster but there ability to jump was limited. The Zepts also had large padded Gauntlets on the arms of the skeleton that could be used for either a offense or defense but They are forbidden from picking up the disk themselves. If one were to try, he would get a shocking surprise. The Guards have a special mods on there exo-chips that allow them to plug into the Zepts. With this implant the Guards can fully control there Zepts with there thoughts along.
