Cassi's POV
I looked over Roper's back seeing who I assumed was Wyatt. Rylin giggled at her cousin as he stood there. I haven't seen him in eighteen long years.

He finally shook his head and walked over. I scratched Roper's belly making him kneel. Then continued scratching it until he was on his back.

"I think my aunt can do that with my uncle's horse." Rylin told me. "She can." We both looked up at a guy walking over. Roper got up and in between the guy and me.

He snorted. The other three came closer. "Overly protective horses. That's something to have while rodeoing." Rylin said. "Yeah and they are not trained to be." I told her vaulting onto Roper's back.

Dawson snapped at Roper and I popped his nose. Dawson backed up and moved around the guy. He patted my horse as he walked around him.

"Got a partner?" The guy asked me. "Quit little over a week ago. Why? You looking for one?" I asked. "Kinda." He replied.

"What position?" I asked. "Header or heeler." He answered. "Got your own horse?" I asked. He smirked. "There is a barn full of horses behind me."

"Just making sure." I said. He leaned on the fence. "So when's the first?" He asked. "Tomorrow night." I told him.

He nodded. "I'll definitely be there. He said. I dismounted from my palomino and scratched him before following them out.

I loaded my horses up and made sure they were clipped in

I loaded my horses up and made sure they were clipped in. They had their shipping gear on and we're ready to go. Dawson was anxious like always.

I got into my truck with dad in the passenger seat. Once at the ring dad helped me unload the boys. Wyatt and Rylin parked next to us.

I got two brushes out and handed one to my dad. Then saddled all of my horses and left their halters on. "Which event is first?" I asked my dad. "Broncs, bareback. Then saddle and bull riding." He replied.

"Thanks." I said going into the living quarters. I went into my bedroom and closed the door. I put my jeans on and a pearl snap shirt.

Then my chaps and vest. I braided my hair back and grabbed my black felt hat. I put it on and pulled on my spurred boots. I stepped out after making sure my chaps were secure.

Down the side it said YORO. You Only Rodeo Once. My dad thought it was crazy, but I thought it was cool. I patted Roper and walked with my dad.

"I still think your crazy for doing all this." He told me. "It's rodeo dad. I'm only going to live once. Why not enjoy it until I am forced into retirement." I said.

He sighed. "What am I going to do with you?" He asked. "Love me and believe I can do it." I replied. He sighed again. "Bareback bronc riding." I quickened my pace making it in time.

Dad already signed me in for all of my events. I got up in the chute when it was my turn. "Hey no girls." A man shouted. "NO B$@&hes either." I yelled back at him.

He glared at me before shutting up. I fixed myself on the bronc with my dad and Colt's help.

Then I pulled my hat on tighter with my left hand and nodded. The gate swung back. The bronc crow hopped out before bucking completely.

The buzzer rang and I fell. I scurried away and out. I met up with my dad and he gave me Roper. I took my vest off and chaps exchanging them for the horse.

I got onto my horse's back and took my bronc spurs off. Roper pawed the ground before I rode him around getting him ready. Once it was my turn I backed him into the box and put a loop in my rope.

Never will I do breakaway roping. The calf broke out and Roper ran it down. I threw my loop with it landing directly on its head. I jumped off my horse quickly and flipped the calf. Then tied three of its four legs.

I stepped back. The calf struggled a little. It didn't break free. Once I was out I took Roper to the trailer. Two events every night except the last.

I leaned against the ring watching after walking back. "When do we compete?" Wyatt asked coming up to me. "Tomorrow night." I told him. He nodded. "Sounds like a plan." He replied.

Once the night was over I was on top of bronc riding and second in tie down. I went back to my trailer and collapsed on the couch. "Well I guess you don't need me." Dad said coming in.

"You've got my buddy's son to worry about." He added. "YORO dad, YORO." I replied.
