The New Girl

Chapter Four

Joey Birlem, the Joey Birlem was sitting in the chair next to where Miss Drysdale was pointing. I slowly walk over to where my seat is, when I sit down the teacher starts talking about the lesson. About half way through the lesson I feel something hit my arm, I look to my right and see Joey looking at me.

"Hey, you look really familiar?" He says more as a question.

I don't know what to say or do so I just smile, I don't want to tell him that we met at Magcon because I don't want him to know that I am a fan.

"Where about's did you live in Australia?" He asks trying to start a conversation.

"Uh, I lived in Perth," I say hoping he doesn't ask anything else.

"Oh cool! Perth was the first place I went to in Australia,I was on tour with some people," I said smiling and nodding obviously re-living the memories.

I just nod and look back to the teacher.

*Lunch* 

I'm currently walking to the cafeteria from my last class, I hesitate before I walk in. I'm kind of scared because I have no one to sit with and I don't want to look like a loner. I got in line to get some food, and it just happens Joey was standing in front of me.

"Are you sitting with anyone at lunch?" He asks nicely.

I just shake my head and look at the ground.

"Your really shy aren't ya?" He says chuckling. "You can sit with my friends and I if you want?"

I nod and mumble a quick, "Thank you,"

After getting lunch Joey walks with me over to his table. "Hey guys, this is Charlotte she is new here so she is gonna sit with us for a bit," he says to all of his friends, who look at me. 

I just wave and sit down next to Joey. Some of them look nice but there are a few girls that look like they want to rip my head off. I just sit there and eat my lunch quietly whilst everyone is on their phones or talking.

"Hey isn't this your account?" One of the girls that kept glaring at me said whilst laughing.

I look up and see that it is on my account for Joey and Charles. I just sit there awkwardly.

"Oh wait that is your account," She said again scrolling down to the picture I posted of me with Joey in Perth.

I'm still sitting there awkward as ever, but this time she has everyone's attention on the table.

"Hahaha, Joey she has a fan account for you how pathetic," She says laughing.

Everyone else on the table starts laughing, Joey just looks at me. Probably regretting talking to me in the first place.

"Oh my god this caption," She starts again, "Words just can't describe how much I miss him, I would do anything to look in his eyes again," She says mimicking the caption, whilst showing everyone the photo and the caption.

That's it, I chuck my fork on the plate and try to get out of the cafeteria as fast as I can without running, so I don't bring more attention to myself.
