Eleventh Story: Valentines Day

It was Valentines Day in Konoha and people everywhere were exchanging gifts, chocolates and many other lovers give to each other. You had a different opinion on this special day as you never celebrate it with anyone, not even with Neji. You had been with Neji for quite a long time, but for some reason you and him were never the romantic types during Valentines day as he finds it pretty stupid as a day and you find it pretty annoying. That day Naruto was on a mission along with Sai and Sakura, so you decide to hang out with the others too. Neji had a day off so he decided to stay home as you rush to go and find anyone to hang out with. You walk along Ino's flower shop as you heard loud noises, entering inside you see Ino, Hinata and TenTen trying to find some flowers for a costumer as they were making a mess. You smile softly greeting them and the costumer and pick up three red roses, tie them with a beautiful blue ribbon and give them to the costumer " They say roses are the flowers for this day as they represent the color of the heart and love. The blue ribbon is for the sky as it means the love for someone is infinite like the sky. Enjoy!" You say smiling as the costumer pays and leaves happily. Ino hugs you tight as she thanks you a lot for everything as the other girls were laying on the floor. TenTen sighs " Man, it is hard to be a seller these days..." Hinata agrees as you smell something burning from he kitchen of Ino's house which was next to the shop. " What is that burning smell ?" You ask as the three girls get up fast panicking " The cake" they scream the same time and run to the kitchen. You smile and close the shop as you walk toward the kitchen.

" Why are you girls making cake?" You ask as Hinata shyly says " It is Valentines day and we are making these for our loved ones." Ino gets the cake out of the over blowing in it, however the cake was burned completely and she throws it in the trash in a way crying. TenTen grabs the ingredients again " This time two stay here one goes and sells..." Ino agrees and turns at you " You should make a cake for Neji too.." You refuse politely " Neji is not the cake type, it's OK, but I can help you girls make one." The girls cheer happily as the four of you begin to make the cake. Hinata was helping you with the basic ingredients as Ino along with TenTen were preparing the filling for the cake. It took an hour for the cake to be done as you still had to put it in the oven, while Ino and Tenten go to take care of the flower shop, Hinata stays with you.

" So, Hinata are you giving this to Naruto too?" Hinata blushes panicking as she lowers her head shaking a no. " I cannot.." You wonder why as you remember chocolate cake was Narutos favorite " Hinata, let's do this. You do not have to give it to him personally, we will leave it at his door since he is on a mission and I will pass through his house after he grabs it and will pretend I know nothing and ask if he likes it." Hinata raises her head smiling " Really?" You nod happily and the two of you continue talking more and more laughing as Ino and TenTen were having a good day at the shop. The cake was ready and the four of you were very excited, Ino cuts the cake in four pieces handing each piece to everyone. You do not refuse it however you remind her that this was no necessary " Ino, it's ok I do not need any piece, you three can eat my share." Ino refuses " No, even though you two do not celebrate, it feels nice when you give something to someone. I think he will like it.. Take it now (y/n)" You smile thanking the girls and leave Ino's place holding the cake in a box.

As you were walking around the place you saw Shikamaro and Choji eating small chocolates as you approach them both. " Hey guys, you bought chocolate?" Choji nods happily as Shikamaro has the serious face as usual. " He was begging for a box of chocolates since it was Valentines day and I had to buy it for him... what a drag.." You smile as Choji asks whats in the bag. Eventually, you explain the two of them everything as Choji is filled with tears " You two are so adorable." he says as Shikamaro looks at him weird. You thank him smiling " Anyways guys, enjoy the food. I have to go and buy some stuff at the market. See you!"

You walk to the grocery store and decide to buy vegetables and meat to make meat soup as you see Kiba and Shino buying food too. Shina was standing ina corner as he was being depressed while Kiba was looking around for stuff. You walk by Kiba

" Hey Kiba, I did not know you shop here."

" O hey (y/n), nah my mother made a list of stuff I have to buy so she can make food and invite many relatives over, which I do not like that, but oh well..." Kiba says as he shows you a long list. You giggle and decide to help him out as he looked pretty lost. You help Kiba picking vegetables, fruits and meat for him and yourself and after the two of you pay at the cashier Shino out of the sudden says " You did not even notice me standing here, Kiba (y/n)" You jump a little being scared as Kiba sighs " You keep hiding yourself Shino, that is not us to blame.."

As you finish shopping and depart from Shino and Kiba you head home with your groceries excited about the new soup you just had thought of. You go home and start preparing food for you and Neji, as he was still asleep. It took you two hours to make the soup and other small dishes while as you were setting the table Neji wakes up and comes next to you hugging you " Smells good" he says as you smile " I thought of a new recipe that you might like, It has a bunch of vegetables, from your favorites." Neji smiles and kisses your cheeks " I already love it!" The two of you sit down to eat as Neji notices the plate with a piece of chocolate cake " Where did that come from?" You look over at the cake " Oh, Ino, Sakura and Hinata were making Valentine chocolates for their loved ones and they shared a piece with me. It was very nice, I helped them and I will help Hinata to give Naruto a piece. It must feel good receiving a gift from a loved one, especially for Naruto, knowing he has people that like him" Neji looks at you seeing you had a face filled with emotions of love and your cheeks were blushing as he continues eating.

After the two of you finished lunch and cleaned the place up, Neji decides to go outside and you had to begin the Hinata plan. The two of you leave the house and you go and meet Hinata two blocks away from Naruto's house as he had returned from the mission a little early. Hinata is hiding there looking at eh gift as you spook her a little bit " Hinata! What are you doing scared here haha?" Hinayana points at Naruto's house as you see the lights were on, while you smile and grab the gift for Naruto " Leave it to me Hinata!" You say and jump into action! You go to Naruto's door and leave the gift in the ground while knocking in his door, than you use your sharingan " Kamui" and in instant you vanish. Going back to Hinata she is looking at Naruto's house with her byjakugan as he opens the door and grabs the gift. " Ok Hinata I am going now, I will tell you everything tomorrow morning. Get some sleep okay lady" You say as Hinata nods happily and goes home as you rush to Naruto's place. You jump in his patio looking at him as he was crying. You freeze feeling sad as he had opened the gift and had seen the chocolate cake, a courage letter and a red rose. You smile softly as you understood he had never gotten such a gift before and decide to not ruin the moments so you leave while Naruto continued crying.

As you were walking home, the moment you get inside the Hyuuga mansion petals of the Sakura tree were flowing in the air as Hanabi was holding a candle with the note " Meet me in the waterfall". Confused and surprised at the same time you walk at the small waterfall and see Neji holding flowers and chocolates on his hand. He bows down to you as you blush red " (Y/n) I want to thank you for being a part of my life. You have made every minute of it worth and with you I am not afraid to live. You made me realize who I was and how I had shut myself to the world. Thank you for being part of me my love. I know that you do not like this celebration, but I thought maybe it would feel nice to receive a gift, as you are my gift." With that Neji raises his head and he looks at you covered in tears smiling. He smiles back as you run and jump into his arms hugging him tight " I love you Neji!!"
