Fourth Story: Brave Like a Lion

It was fall season in Konoha and usually what that means is that school  fall semester begins. You, Naruto, Neji, Kiba, Sakura, Sasuke, Ino, Shikamaru, Choji, Rock lee etc, were in the second year of school. You had been there for only two semesters so you had made friends with everyone. First class starts early in the morning as Iruka sensei gathers everyone in the school yard. 

"Ok, everyone i want  you all to show me what you all have learned during summer, or if you have been improving your new techniques. Hm, Sakura you are first." Iruka says as Sakura approaches him as she is able to create three shadow clones. Iruka nods as he calls upon Shikamaru which had developed his shadow technique, even though not mastered yet and weak Iruka congrats Shikamaru on the progress. Then he calls on Choji, Ino, Hinata, Kiba and Akamaru, Rock Lee and the other students. The only one left is Naruto as everyone still was a bit rough on him, however you start cheering for his loudly as Hinata cheers for him in her mind.

" Go Naruto, show them what you're made of man!!!!!" You shout as everyone feels annoyed and Kiba doesn't spare the comments and tells Shikamaru " This girls is always so loud.." You hear what Kiba said and that pissed you off. Naruto performed shadow clone jutsu and was able to create two clones. One of them was a little off but the other one was perfect Naruto copy. Iruka congrats him as Naruto smiles brightly running up to you " Did you see it?" You nod smiling "Let's celebrate by eating ramen " Naruto jumps happily as class was over. The two of you rush to the ramen place as the others leave too.  At Ichiraku you and Naruto start to talk about life in general at the village when Kiba,Shikamaru and Ino enter the shop and sit down ordering their ramen. You look at Kiba kind of mad as he stares back. The two of you continue staring at each other madly as Shikamaru, Ino and Naruto notice the tension between you two.

' Ok, whats with the staring you two?" Ino says as Kiba and you still stare at one another with angry faces. Than he moves his eyes away  " Whenever Naruto goes to do something she is always cheering so loudly, like she loves him or something..." Kiba says. You reply to him immediately " I do love him, as my brother. You people just never understand what it really mean to be best friend with someone. You never understand what being on your own means. Your a bunch of spoiled brats!"  With those words Kiba snaps replying to you angrily " We are not brats. You act like you're Naruto's biggest fan, why? Just because he is dumb enough to talk to someone who's dad was not strong enough to save his own family... Or your crazy mother that just keeps you in the house like a prisoner." With those words Naruto snaps as he punches Kiba out of the shop. Shikamaru and Ino rush to Kiba keeping him away from Naruto as you stand there tears flowing down your face and run away as Naruto follows you. Shikamaru and Ino punch Kiba in the head as Ino says " You idiot. You took it to far with that comment" . Kiba rubs his head as he looks at you and Naruto running.  Naruto stops you from running as he could barely catch his breath.

"No one likes me Naruto... All of them see me as a loser just because I try to support you a lot... I am just trying to be a good friend and..."

" Don't listen to them.. All of them are spoiled and i really appreciate what you do for me... Doesn't matter what everyone else says."

"  It matter to me Naruto.... I want to be liked by everyone... It's like they don't like me just because I hang out with you.. Just because of you..."

Naruto looks at you surprised as he felt so hurt by your words and slowly moves backwards. You look down crying as you form a fist " It's because of you.. Just because everyone hates you doesn't mean i have to be hated too.." In that moment you realize what you said and look at Naruto feeling sorry as he runs away from you. The next morning you wake up feeling bad about what you said to Naruto as he hadn't come over at your place to call you as every morning. You went to school as Naruto was not there, he was nowhere to be found as you felt very sad.

Meanwhile, in the village there was an infiltrated ninja who was after Naruto. The ninja worked for Orochimaru as at  that time no one had heard of him, but his plan to destroy Konoha was in the first steps. The ninja had gathered a lot of information recording Naruto and he knew you were his only friend in the village and his plan was to kidnap you in hopes the young boy would show up. So that is what he does as the plan began the moment you decided to go to the gates of the village to look for Naruto. You look all around the place for him but couldn't find him so you decide to go to the gate of the village as sometimes Naruto would  wonder around the gate practicing. You were getting worried  about Naruto and fail to notice the ninja waiting to ambush you when you at least expected it. However, since you were a hyuuga and an Uchiha you immediately noticed him the moment he stood next to you and you avoid him on time as a loud thrust on the ground was heard and the dust was everywhere covering the visible area. You sigh thinking that it was a good thing you noticed him in the heck of time. You are trying to see through the smoke but it was very thick so you decide to use your byakugan. Doing so, you spot where he is and were able to avoid every attack he would launch on you until the smoke went away and everything became visible. 

You back away from him smiling " Well well the ninjas of Orochimaru now aim little kids... Well guess what I am not giving up on Naruto.. You can be sure of that!!" The ninja started laughing " Oh and are you little brat going to stop me.." You smile and nod " Of course!" The ninja got slightly annoyed by your confidence and strikes at you with a bunch of Kunai. You were able to avoid most of them as one scratches you in the left arm bleeding out. You land on the ground and decide to use your byakugan to hit him in chakra points as you do so. You were able to hit him in some of the chakra points, blocking his circulation, however you were still a beginner and the ninja recovered fast using one of his jutsu's he pins you down on the ground as he is about to kill you with one of the Kunai " I hate mouthful brats." With these last words said by him you thought it was the end of you when Kakashi sensei, Iruka sensei and Naruto show up saving you in the nick of time. Naruto helps you stand up as Kakashi was able to beat the ninja pretty fast and easily. Iruka sensei and Naruto try to help you as you notice the concerned face of Naruto and you start crying inside of you. They send you to the hospital to get your arm healed as the doctors get you checked and release you on the same day.

Naruto had been waiting for you to come out of the hospital as the moment you see him you run up to him and hug him tight! " I am so sorry Naruto.." Tears covered your face as Naruto hugs back tightly " I forgive you (y/n) " You look at him and smile together with him. The next day you and Naruto were sitting together in class as it was time to practice the shadow clone jutsu Iruka had left as homework for the class. Everyone was able to do a good job as it was Naruto's turn. He looks over at you as you were not yelling his name out and smiles a little bit as he continues on executing the jutsu when he heard a loud scream of his name. He turns around and looks at you as you were cheering him up " Go Naruto!!! You can make it!!" Naruto smiles and creates the shadow clone jutsu as you celebrate his achievement. >> I do not care anymore what others say or think of me. I want to cheer for you Naruto because you are my best friend. Thank you Naruto, i believe that one day everyone is going to see you with not fear in their eyes but with respect. You got this Naruto." <<
