Fifth story: Like Father Like Daughter

It had been almost sixteen since you last saw Neji and fifteen years since you gave birth to your daughter. Now you are at a much mature age along with all of the other people in your life. Naruto was the new Hokage of the village, Hinata was his wife and they had two adorable kids, Boruto four years old and Hinawari two years old. Sasuke and Sakura had Sarada which was four years old also, as the others had kids too. Their lifestyle had changed as some of the previous ninja had retired to stay by their children, some had been placed to a higher rank ninja and some had completely retired. You had decided to name your daughter Yuno as now she was at an age where she had found new friends and had already began to go on missions. You still lived alone with your daughter as a picture of you and Neji always stood on the wall as everyday you would look at it and smile. Everyday of your life without him had become easier and easier, however there were nights when you would dream talking to him and telling him how everything is going, which made it a little easier to deal with being a single mom. Yuno had always been a very respectful kid toward you and the image of her father.

One day you and Yuno decided to go and see the Kazekage of the sand as he had invited you over for dinner as a celebration of the friendship and collaboration you had had with Gaara. So, the two of you girls were walking outside of the village when you see Naruto in the distance. He greets at you as Yuno smiles and goes and hugs him " Uncle Naruto! Mom said that Gaara had invited us over at his place for dinner this weekend. " Naruto looks at both of you in almost shock and laughs a little. " That is where I am going too. Gaara invited me and Hinata to his dinner for the weekend, but Hinata did not want to come and leave our kids alone so she decided to stay home with Himawari and Boruto and with a copy of me as I have to go to the dinner." Yuno smiles happily as you look away blushing a little while Naruto senses the awkwardness of the moment. He looks down at Yuno as you grab your daughter by the hand. " Let us go Yuno, Naruto. We do not want to be late there." The two of them nod as the journey to the village began. On the way Yuno notices how you and Naruto were acting a little bit off, as she is trying to figure out how the two of you would react after hearing all the stories with him and the endless adventures you and Naruto had! You and Naruto were walking as sometimes the two of you would exchange sight but would not speak to each other. It was getting dark as you and Naruto along with Yuno decide to stop and camp out for the night. Naruto creates two shadow clones to protect the area as you and your daughter prepare food. The three of you eat and talk around the campfire, laugh and have a really nice time as Yuno had fallen asleep on your lap. Naruto picks her up and puts her to her bed as you stay outside gazing at the stars.

Naruto was about to go sleep when he saw you outside and decides to come close to you and talk. You notice him approaching and lower your head " You remember right?" you say as Naruto sits next to you and puts his arm around you gently. " I remember.. I can never forget. Tomorrow is going to be the day you lost him." You nod as your head was still down, tears crushing down on the ground as Naruto hugs you tighter as Yuno keeps sleeping peacefully. You get up and tell Naruto you were going to bed and so you do. After a while you fall asleep, meanwhile Naruto looks at the  horizon sensing something strange but decides to go and sleep. You were sleeping as it was becoming very hard not to move and talk on your sleep as you were dreaming of Neji and the days back when he was still alive. You find yourself in the valley of pink flowers as there you stand holding Neji's headband. You look at it feeling sad as you immediately feels the warmth of Neji's arms hugging you tight. You smile as his head rests on yours and his arms embrace you with love and peace. " I miss you so much my dear" Neji says as you start to cry.
