Lost in Reality

Chapter 3

Kirstie POV

I was confused as to why Scott acted the way he did. I just wanted things to go back to normal before all of this drama happened. But clearly that's not how Scott felt.

And now I felt awful. He blew up at me and the next thing I knew I threw my engagement ring on the ground and ran away. I don't know how he feels about it, but I just need space. I love him, I really do, it's just a little too much right now.

I'd been crying so much that I didn't realize I was still running. I looked up and saw a park. I decided to blink away the tears and sit on the swings. I remember going to the park a lot as a younger kid. I always loved the swings. They were a stress reliever I guess, which is why I'm here now. I knew my phone was going off, i could hear it. But I didn't care about that right now. I would go back eventually, just not now. Thinking was something I needed to do. It had been a while since I sat down and relaxed, so I decided to head home and take a nap.

Once I got home I realized that the door was open. That was odd, I remember closing the door before leaving. I hesitantly walked inside, looking everywhere to make sure no one was here. I didn't see anyone so I just shrugged it off. Starting to walk to my room, I heard something, but before I could do anything I was pushed to the ground. I grabbed my phone and clicked on the first contact to call someone. I don't know whose it was, but I knew that whoever it was would come to my rescue.

I heard the familiar click, emphasizing that whoever I called had picked up. Next thing I knew, the person was slamming me against the wall. I screamed and dropped my phone, hoping that didn't end the call. I started to get punched and thrown around, but at the last moment before my eyes closed, I saw some people walk through the door with the police. And the next thing I knew, my world went black.
