They woke up later that day. It was nearly 7:00, and the Sun was setting. Mark stood up. Chica stood beside him. 'You've been asleep for awhile' Sean said. Mark ran his hand through his hair. 'Yeah' he sighed. 'You hungry' asked Sean. Mark gave him a look as if to say 'that's a stupid question, of course I am'. Sean smiled

Mark was in his bedroom. He wondered over to his computer. There was a note on the keyboard. He picked it up, and what it said was disturbing. It said:

Until next time, brother

Mark tried to remain calm and took a deep breath. Amy walked in and saw him with the note in his hand. She looked concerned. 'Mark. Are you ok' Mark quickly thought of what to say. 'Umm.. yeah. Yeah, I'm fine.' And he smiled. Amy smiled back and then she left the room. Mark came out of his room about a minute later. He saw Amy, Sean and Signe in the kitchen talking. He smiled. There wasn't much Mark liked more that seeing his friends happy. Chica came and stood beside him. They wondered into the garden together and sat on the grass. They sat there in silence watching the Sun set. It was quickly disappearing below the horizon. It shone its last rays of light on to the buildings in Los Angeles, creating a shadow behind every one so that you could hardly see and windows but just the outline of the buildings, which gave the look of the city's skyline. The Sun reflected of the clear blue sea like a mirror. It became dimmer and dimmer until it was dim enough to look at. Mark put his arm around Chica and as they watched the Sun set Mark said; 'Thank you Chica.' And he looked at her and she looked back. 'I love you, Chica. You saved me. You're such a clever dog. Thank you so much.' And he gave Chica a hug and they watched the Sun set below the horizon. As soon as it did there was a cold breeze. This reminded Mark that his brother was still out there and that it wouldn't be the last time he saw him. But for now he was going to enjoy every moment he had with Sean, Signe, and of course his lovely dog, Chica. The three of them came outside and sat with Mark and Chica and although the Sun had set it still gave a few rays, which were clearly visible, poking up from below the horizon. They talked to each other until it was dark. Mark thought about telling them about the note but decided that he should leave it and maybe tell Amy when Sean and Signe had gone back to Ireland. For now though, he just enjoyed the time he had with his friends, The people he cared the most about
