A Zusi's Path

Chapter 3: Questions

     After the two were running around for a few hours, playing around like kids do. They both then went along and laid down on a nearby patch of grass, out of breath and exhausted.

"You're faster than yesterday..", Re3x0 said between deep breaths. She let out a laugh, "Maybe you're just slower!", she chuckled. Giving her a friendly nudge, "No! I am not getting slower!", he responded with a chuckle before sitting up. "Hey Rw63y, can I ask you something?", said. Sitting up and glanced over at Re3x0, "Yeah? What is it?", she asked him.

"Earlier I overheard my mum and brother talking, and she said something like how she won't always be here for me and my brother.. What do you think she meant by that?", he asked. Meeting her gaze.

Rw63y gave a shrug, "I am not sure.. Maybe she is talking about when she gets old and crazy like the Mailman!", she then chuckled. Re3x0 laughed in response, "Yeah probably something silly like that!", he responded, feeling better about the situation.

Hearing his stomach growl he jumped up, "I am going to have lunch, wanna come?", he looked over and asked her. "Sorry, I can't. Mama is going to be taking me and my sister to get our fur groomed! Girl stuff, you won't understand it", she answered him.

Groaning slightly, "Oh okay, you go be a dumb girl!", he sneered. She laughed before getting up and started heading towards her house. "Cya later Re3x0! Maybe we can hang out more tomorrow and this time we play in my yard! We have a pond of water and we can go swimming and pretend that we're slives!", she shouted. "Yeah! Let's do that! Cya!", he responded as he headed inside of his home.

Upon entering his home he went to raid the icebox for a snack. Hearing his mother in the main room cleaning things up. Grabbing a small tub up creamed ice Re3x0 darted to his room to eat at his prize. Though realizing he did not grab something to eat it with he then tried to sneak back into the dinner room to get a tool to eat the creamed ice with. On his way back to his room, E4r1c met him in the hall.

"Why do you only have that?", he asked. Re3x0 tried to hide the utensil, "It's nothing", he answered.

Rolling his eyes E4r1c let his brother through the hall. Pushing past his brother Re3x0 made it back in his room to eat his sweet treat. Making a sticky mess with his fur. "Ack!", he shouted out when he spilled some of the creamed ice onto his lap, making even more of a mess.

Leaving the spoon in the tub he put the lid on it and went to put it back into the ice box. While he was in the dinner room he grabbed a cloth so he could clean up the mess he had made. "Mum is going to kill me if she finds out I was eating in my room...", he thought to himself when he made it in his room to clean up the mess from the creamed ice.

Getting most of the mess out of his room, he went to get another cloth and ran down the hall, only to run into his brother. "Hey watch where you're going runt!", he growled looking over at Re3x0. "What's that stuff in your fur?", he asked. "Don't tell mum!", Re3x0 responded before he could even answer.

Giving a glare down at him, "If I don't tell on you, you don't tell on me in the future got it? You know how mama doesn't like us eating in our rooms!", he said. Giving a sigh Re3x0 nodded, "Alright..". E4r1c got up in his brother's face, "If I find out you snitch on me after this, you're gonna get it", he threatened as he went into the main room where Ar10L was reading the daily paper. Growling under his breath Re3x0 got another cloth and went to finish cleaning up the mess and himself before going to join the others in the family room.

Upon entering the family room, his mother smiled at him. "How have you been my dear?", she asked. "I'm good, I was playing Rw63y earlier. Then I had lunch". She beamed, "That's good dear. Also you two, I have amazing news for you both", she said. Both Re3x0 and E4r1c looked at, both very curious. "What is it mama?", E4r1c asked. Setting the paper down she answered.

"Your father is coming home tomorrow", she said. Standing there in shock "M-my father..", Re3x0 thought. He had never been introduced to his father. He was sent to fight in the Battle Party before he was hatched..

E4r1c on the other hand was overjoyed. Jumping up in excitement, "I haven't seen dad in forever!", he exclaimed. "I cannot wait to hear all of his battles and him to see how big I have gotten!", he continued, his tail wagging and a purr emitting from his throat.

Giving a soft purr herself, "I know, and Re3x0. This will be your first time meeting him! I am sure he will love to meet you", she said petting the top of his head. Re3x0 just standing there, and putting on a smile. He doesn't know how he feels about meeting his father, he hasn't really heard much about his besides how great he is. "Would he like me?", Re3x0 asked himself in thought.
