well... what are you waiting for? get up, i'm taking you on a dateIt had been an hour and Nate was still waiting outside for Matthew. Still, he was okay with waiting. As it was a beautiful day, sun brightly shining with cloud overhead. There was a breeze, blowing past him every few moments that made it much more enjoyable to be out in the sun. Thank god the good weather was holding up, their date wouldn't work out if it didn't.
Just as he was about to reach down for his phone to ask his boyfriend where he was, the front door opened. A shy looking Matthew stood in it's place, clean white jeans hugging to his legs nicely. He had a black crop top on, revealing an inch of tanned skin from the fabric to his jeans.
"Wow, you look beautiful," Nate chuckled, bouncing up the steps and wrapping his arms around Matthew's waist.
"Why thank you~" the brunette giggled, "you don't look to bad yourself."
He scoffed, looking down at his black jeans and Five Nights at Freddy's tank top, "you flatter me, princess. Now, why don't we head out?"
"Where are you taking me?" Matthew laced their hands together, only mildly confused when he didn't see a car. Nate was just there, but he looked like he knew where he was going. The two boyfriends walked down the street, passing by lone dog walkers, joggers, or heterosexual couples smiling at them warmly.
"I was scared of dentists and the dark~" Nate mumbled quietly, a slight melody to his voice as he looked over at Matthew.
"I was scared of pretty boys and starting conversations, oh all my friend's are turning green," Matthew responded, letting out another gentle giggle when - mid walk - Nate spun him around.
"You're the magician's assistant in their dreams," he smiled, kissing Matthew's temple.
"Oh, oh~ and they come unstuck. Baby, running down to the riptide. Taken away to the dark side~"
"I wanna be your left hand man. I love you when you're singing that song and I got a lump in my throat 'cause yore gonna get the words wrong."
Matthew stifled laughter, the irony in Nate's statement nearly stopping him from continuing their impromptu duet, "there's this movie that I think you'll like. This guy decides to quit his job and head to New York City! This cowboy's running from himself, and she's been living on the highest shelf. Oh~ and they come unstuck!"
"Baby, running down to the riptide, taken away to the dark side, I wanna be your left hand man. I love you when you're singing that song and I got a lump in my throat 'cause I keep getting the words wrong," Nate smiled, stopping and placing his hands on either side of Matthew's waist before continuing:
"I just wanna, I just wanna know~ if you're gonna, if you're gonna stay~ I just gotta, I just gotta know~ I can't have it, I can't have it any other way-"
Matthew cut him off by singing with so much quiet passion it rendered Nate speechless, "I swear he's destined for the screen, closest thing to Matt Bomer that you've ever seen, oh~ baby, running down to the riptide, taken away to the dark side. I wanna be your left hand man, I love you when you're singing that song and I can't help but laugh because you keep getting the words wrong."
"Oh my god, you're amazing," Nate couldn't help himself but to wrap his arm around Matthew's shoulders, using his other arm to pick up his legs. He picked up the boy bridal style, pressing their lips together and kissing all while smiling and laughing.
"You have such a nice voice, you should sing to me more," he mumbled against Nate's lips.
"If I stay over tonight, maybe I can sing you to sleep," Nate offered, letting his boyfriend down as they continued on their way to their date.
"Oh I can make you sing," Matthew giggled, then looked at Nate seriously, "was that too much?"
"I bet you could," they were soon at an empty park. Abandoned swing sets, odd for a Saturday when the kids were out of school. Still Nate appreciated the fact that he wouldn't get any odd glances from parents.
There was a hill the two went up, left alone with a view of the park. The tree beside them had a wide trunk and Matthew was soon pressed against it.
"You're so impatient, Nathan," he purred, "not like I can blame you~"
"I would love to just smother you with kisses against this tree, but I made you cupcakes. And sandwiches. And even salad, princess. I made you a fruit salad."
"Thank you, honey. That's very sweet of you," Matthew kissed Nate's cheek, then sat down on the blue blanket laid down on the ground. Nate made work in unpacking everything, Matthew was eating basically everything put in front of him.
Soon they both had a cupcake, a sandwich, and portions of the fruit salad in front of them. Quiet giggles and feeding each other was shared for what felt like an eternity. It was only an hour, though. Then Nate stretched his legs out, propping himself up with his arms behind his back. Matthew was laying his head in his lap, and Nate was gently running his hands through his hair.
---
The sun was setting by the time they were headed back to Matthew's house. The brunette was exhausted, his legs around Nate's waist and arms around his neck.
"Tired, aren't you, princess?"
"V-very. Please stay tonight," he mumbled, and Nate nodded.
---
"Goodnight, princess," Nate held Matthew against his chest, kissing his forehead.
"Goodnight, Nate. I love you," he whispered, lacing their bare legs together. Getting out of their tight jeans felt amazing, actually getting completely out of their clothes - other than their boxers - was lovely. It was cold, but Nate was radiating heat and Matthew was nuzzling into him.
"I love you too, Matty."
I love you too.
