The man was frightened to the bone. The little girl, Daniel and Hess just watched as she assaulted this man. "I was talking to my daughter." He shook his hands in front of his face.
"Is that a way to treat your child?" The man shook his head. Amelia dropped him and he fell to the floor. "You disgust me." She then spits on him. She walks over to the little girl and bents down. "Are you okay?" She asked sweetly. The girl shrugged her shoulders. "Daniel bring this man to another room." Daniel walked to the man and flung him over his shoulder like he was nothing but a sack of skin. Amelia picked up the little girl and carried her to the same room.
"What would you like me to do my lovely?" Jess asked wiggling his butt around. Amelia rolled his eyes.
"Follow us." Daniel sat the man down at a dusty dinner table covered in empty beer cans and a sticky cover. It smelt of booze all over the house. The girl held Amelia tightly as she was brought to the table. She still had her thumb in her mouth and didn't make a single sound.
"Can I help you Cobra?" The man pull his shaking hands together and placed them on the table in front of him. He wore a white tank top with jean pants. His face was wrinkly and he had the shadow of a beard. His hair was a mess but so was his daughters. Amelia sat down in a chair across from the man with the girl on her lap facing him.
"First you can tell me about this horrible place for a child." She looked around the room. The glass doors separating the two rooms were stained with red. Not blood but wine.
"This is my house. I know it's kind of a mess but we live here alone and haven't gotten to cleaning day yet." He refused to make eye contact with either Daniel or Jess on each side of Amelia. Instead he looked at his hands. The only neatly folded thing in the whole house.
"Kind of? The floor is covered with alcohol cans and bottles with glass everywhere. Your daughter is lucky she has boots on." Daniel crossed his arms and closed his eyes. Amelia looked at the man straight in the eyes.
"How could you rise a child in here? A human child for that matter!" Jess shouted. The man shook in his seat.
"Well because she has no place to go. She no longer has a mother. She left about two months ago saying she never wants to see us again." His face became heavy has he slouched down.
"Two months ago?" Amelia repeated. The man nodded. "Did you happen to be visited by anyone one month ago?" The man thought for a moment but said nothing. The girl tugged my Amelia's shirt. She looked down the the girl nodded at her question. "Someone did?" The girl nodded rapidly. "Who?" The girl stuck out her tough and pointed to it. Amelia knew what this meant.
"God damn it Sofie, use your words!" The man slammed his hands down on the table. Amelia glared at him but stopped when the girl named Sofie hugged her. She was shaking.
"You bastard! What did you do to your daughter?" She yelled. The man crossed his arms and didn't speak.
"Answer the question my Lady gave you." Daniel stepped closer to the table. The man pull his hands out to Daniel.
"Ok, ok!" He cleared his throat. "She can't speak. At least she won't." Sofie tapped Amelia on the shoulder. Amelia looked down and Sofie pulled up her shirt a bit. Where she pulled was a large scar across her stomach. Amelia's eyes darted for the man.
"If you treat your child like that you deserve nothing but death." She began to pull out her knife when Daniel stopped her.
"When someone came were they sent by the queen?" The man nodded.
"It was the Queens Spider and his creepy butler. I got really pissed and my actions got a little out of hand." Amelia was able to pull the pieces together rather quickly.
"You got mad, probably drunk, and beat your daughter causing her to get this scar and not speak." Her hair flew over her eyes. "If I didn't need more information my knife would have already been inside your stomach." Pink filled her vision.
"Y-yeah. But for some reason Alois left early. He said he had somewhere to been and left without completing the investigation." Amelia slammed her fist down on the table. "A few hours later I heard a girl screaming." Sofie nodded as to assure he wasn't lying. Amelia smirked then licked her lip. She stood and picked up Sofie. She brought her to the other room and sat her on the couch. She left her there and went back to her father with the glass doors shut. She tilted her head and held her knife in her teeth. Jess tapped her shoulder.
"As a reaper I ask if you can spare this man?" Amelia glared at him and laughed.
"Of course not. This bastard deserves to die." She ran with the knife still in her mouth. She ran passed and the man fell to the ground. A large gash on his stomach causing her to laugh again. Sofie stood outside the blood stained doors and stared. Amelia wiped the blood from her face and rubbed it on her skirt. "Oh. Don't worry Sofie. Your father would have dead either way. Because Karma is one hell of a bitch." She picked up Sofie and whispered something to Daniel. He nodded and took Sofie from her arms. Jess closed the mans eyes and went to catch up with Amelia who was already outside.
"Where did the demon take the child?" Amelia smiled sweetly.
"No child should be hurt by their parents. She was taken to the queen. A young girl like her is weak against a grown man." She moved a piece of hair behind her ear. "Because even I, would never harm a little girl."
