Chapter Six

"Rena... Did you say James?" Harry questioned. Rena nodded slightly. Harry looked at Sylvia sleeping peacefully and carefully slid out from the bed. Harry replaced the covers he accidently moved and pulled it up to Sylvia's chin. He kissed her forehead and walked out of the room closing the door right behind him. 

Harry straightened up his coat and walked down the stair case. "Rena, can you please prepare some wine, perferably red wine?" Harry asked. His voice unsteady. It was either really bad or really good that james was here. But with Sylvia in the house he knew it was bad. 

James, he doesn't have the whole story and Harry would have to explain along with Rena. James sat at the dinning room table quietly tapping his fingers on the cherry wood table.

"Lord james, what do i owe this honor?" Harry said taking a seat across from james. "Well i have heard an interesting rumor." james paused. 

"You have sheltered a human... and it is rumored you are engaged. Lord Harry you know the rules. Not just have you broken them by sheltering a human but you are engaged to one. We can't have this. It endangers our species." James stated clearly and strickly.

"James, that is not the case."

"Lord harry i am certain that it is the case. You know as well as i do you broke the rules." James rudely inturrupted.

"She's not HUMAN." Harry slams his fist down on the table. James looks at Harry supprised by Harry's actions.

"Well care to explain how shes not human. For heavens sakes i can hear her true human heart beating right now. Tell me shes not human." James demanded.

"Yes she has a human heart but shes the ánkyra yperfysikós. The anchor of the supernatural. She balances the supernatural beings." Harrys voice getting stronger as he spoke. 

"How do you know for certain shes the anchor Harry? How could you possibly know between human and non-human when her appearance is a human and all the signs i read is human." james questions Harrys knowings.

Rena steps into the conversation. "She has the trait. The trait of the winter blue eyes." Rena spoke quietly, frightened by  the vampire that was not her master. James laughs rather loudly. "The eyes, is that how you judge between whether or not shes the anchor." James was amused by this sudden statement.

"Its not just her eyes Lord James. She turned 18 today and the legend says that on the anchors 18th birthday her eyes will turn red just like the comet Hema. The 18th birthday ties her to the curse of the comet of Hema. And Hema got its name from the blood color it is. Sylvia's eyes turned the blood red that the comet Hema possesses." Rena spoke with her head low.

"Where is this 'Sylvia'?" James spoke. More interested in this Sylvia now hes heard about this anchor.

"Shes sleeping right now, shes had a long day." Harry replied. Harry didn't want james getting anywhere near Sylvia. 

"Oh really? Seems to me that shes up." James nodded toward the girl standing at the top of the stairs looking down at them.  Harry looks up at Sylvia with sad eyes. Sylvia imediantly regrets getting out of bed. She was just trying to find Harry.

"And you must be the lovely Sylvia yes?" James spoke high and mighty. Sylvia slowly nodded her head. James ran up the stairs in an in-human speed. 

"My, my, its true. Your eyes are truely red." his hands glide over her cheek. She looked away in disgust. His cold hands leaving Sylvia in shivers.

"Lord james your making her uncomfortable." Harry spoke up from down stairs. His eyes never leaving sylvia.

"Oh i'm very sorry dear, i didn't properly introduce myself. I am James Mason. Rule maker of all vampires." James bowed and grabbed her hand kissing the top of it. Harry had his fist clenched till his knouckles turned white.

Rena hiding behind the wall, but still watching. Rena wasn't going to let anything happen to Sylvia. James stood back up and looked Sylvia in the eye. Sylvia felt a deep erge to run away and hide. James was a dangerous man, she could sense it.

James sensed the tenson in the air. "Well... I see no true laws broken if shes not truely human as you say. I will see you around." James bowed and left the house slamming the door behind him.

Sylvia releases the breath she has been holding. 

"Are you alright Sylvia?" Harry asked concerned that she is frightened of vampires because of james. Is she frightned of harry now that she has seen who the vampires are being led by.

"U-m... yes... i should be fine. Rena if its no trouble can you make me some tea?" Sylvia asked voice shakey. Rena nodded and headed off into the kitchen.

Sylvia slowly walked down the stairs and into the living room. She sat on the long couch facing the fireplace. Harry joined her on the couch wrapping his arm around her shoulders.

"Rena can you please light the fire?" Harry asked. Rena murmered a few words and the fireplace came to life. Sylvia looked up in shock. 

"How did she do that?" Sylvia breath was weak from the shock.

"I'm sorry i forgot to tell you, Rena is a witch. Sylvia... did you hear what james and I were talking about?" harry asked. He didn't want sylvia to know about herself and he hoped she didn't walk into the conversation. 

"No...all i heard was murmuring nonsense then i came out and James was infront of me." Sylvia stated. Sylvia let out a small but yet noticable yawn. Rena came back in with tea made for Sylvia. 

"Thank you Rena." Sylvia said politely taking the china cup.

"Its getting dark outside,  Miss Sylvia you should retire for the day. Why don't me and you head up to your room and get you read for bed." Rena suggested. 

"Yes that sounds very nice Rena. Harry if you would excuse me." Sylvia excused herself.

"I will be up there soon love." Harry replied. Sylvia quietly walked up the steps with Rena following behind her. 

Darkness crept around each and every cornor of the house. The clock stroke midnight.

"Sylvia can i please see your eyes?" Rena says out of the blue. Sylvia turn towards Rena and opens her eyes wide.

Rena examines Sylvia's eyes. "Your eyes are back to normal which is good." Rena smiles slightly at her.

"Rena what exactally is wrong with me?"
