{A/N: Hey guys! This was a request by the lovely @batmanwife13! I completely forgot about this book until she reminded me. So, if you guys have any star trek requests, I'll gladly take them. Hope you enjoy this!}

You stepped into the elevator to take you up to the bridge your sister, Nyota Uhura, right behind you.

As soon as the doors closed...

"Are you going to tell him?" Nyota asked. You sighed and gave your sister a dirty look.

"Nyota, please." You said, desperation in your voice, "Lay off."

Nyota rolled her sparkling brown eyes and shot you a smirk.

"Nope, you gotta tell him." She declared.

She's been like this ever since she found out that you had a crush on the Captain. You were much too scared to tell him, but Nyota pushed you to do so. She insisted that you two would be 'So cute' and is already planning the wedding. You didn't know if it was sweet, or annoying.

"Look, (Y/N), we're going on Shore Leave to Yorktown. If you're not comfortable telling him on the ship, tell him there." Nyota continued her seemingly endless pestering.

"If I say sure, will you shut up?" You sighed. She nodded.

"Then sure."

Nyota gave you a smile, before the doors opened and you two walked out.

"Permission to enter the bridge?" You both said in unison.

"Granted. Come in, ladies." Kirk called from the Captain's chair. The two of you walked on, and sat at your posts.

"Good morning, Uhura, (Y/N)." Kirk greeted warmly. You felt butterflies fly up as he said your name.

"You too, Captain." Uhura said, as she placed her earpiece in. You simply nodded.

"Mr. Sulu." Kirk said, "Set course for York Town."

"Yes, sir." Sulu smiled, as he entered in the coordinates and warped.

The entire ride, you had a sick feeling. We're you actually going to tell him this time? Should you even try? You glanced over at Uhura, then to Kirk, before sighing to yourself. What did you have to lose? Might as well give it a shot at least.

You arrived at the planetoid, and stared at it opened mouthed. It was incredible. From what you heard in the background, Doctor McCoy would say otherwise, but it was incredible in your eyes.

The ship docked and you made your way down the ship's halls to the exit, you heard footsteps behind you. You looked over your shoulder to see Kirk jogging up to you.

"Captain!" You said, stopping. Kirk stopped beside you and gave you a dashing smile that made your heart beat at twice its normal speed.

"(Y/N)!" He said, "I was wondering, if maybe you wanted to grab lunch or something later."

Your cheeks flushed a light pink as you shyly looked down at the floor.

"Um, sure..." You forced out. Kirk gave you another smile before walking away.

"I'll meet you at the bar at 1:30, ok?" He called over his shoulder. You called back an answer, your face still pink. You had just been asked out by James T. Kirk.

You quickly checked your watch. You had a few hours before you had to meet with Kirk, and that gave you time to do a little exploring. Walking out the gate, you smiled at the heartwarming reunions of fellow officers and their families. Sulu you could see the tears brimming Sulu's face as he embraced his daughter and husband.

"Aye, Lass." You heard a familiar voice, and turned to see Scotty and Keenser.

"Me and the wee man we're goin' ta look at the construction of the new Starship." He said, "Would ye like ta come along?"

"Sure, Scotty." You smiled. Scotty has always been such a great friend to you, supporting you from the very beginning.

The hours went by much more quickly than you would have liked them to, and before you knew it, you were waving Scotty and Keenser goodbye and making your way to the bar you had agreed to meet Kirk at. You pushed open the door to see Kirk sitting at a table with two beers in front of him. He turned, saw you, and gave a friendly wave and a smile.

You shuffled over to him, and took the seat across from him.

"(Y/N)." Kirk nodded.

"Captain." You nodded back. Kirk cracked a smile and gave a slight chuckle.

"Please, (Y/n), it's Shore leave. Call me Jim." He said. You gave a small laugh, and tucked a piece of hair behind your ear.

The two of you placed your order, and continued to talk. Jim made you feel very comfortable, you found. You'd never really had a full conversation with the man that wasn't about Starfleet. He was even more of a gentleman than you originally thought. After the delicious meal, and after Jim paid (much to your protest), it was time to leave.

You exited the bar together and stood to the right of the door in silence.

Well, it was now or never.

"Jim?" You asked, trying to keep your nerves down. He looked into your eyes. Your heartbeat was so loud you swore he could hear it.

"Yes?" He answered. You took a deep breath.

"Jim, I've really liked you for the longest time, the biggest crush ever." You said quickly. You instantly regretted saying that, and your face turned bright red, "I-I'll go now..."

You turned on your heel, or at least tried to, but Jim grabbed your arm.

"That's so weird..." He said, "I was literally going to tell you the same thing."

"W-what?" You asked, shocked. Jim chuckled and brought your lips to his for a short kiss. You instantly melted into his touch, breathless as you disconnected from him.

"Is this a thing now?" You asked.

"I think it is." He replied.
