Klaus sighed angrily as he strolled back down into the basement.

"No hard feelings sweetheart. But I need to get on with this now." He said, as he glanced at Elena struggling to free herself. Elena furrowed her brows at him and called him a few choice words.

The basement was cold and dusty, a small bright light lit up the room and the smell sent shivers down Elena's spine. It smelled like rotting, and mould.

"Are you going to kill me?" Elena whispered as she closed her eyes. She barely had any strength left, and felt a sharp prick of pain from her arm, and when she opened her hers, realised she was connected to a drip. It was taking her blood.

Klaus ignored her pleas, and once the IV bag was full of her blood, he put a fresh empty one in its place. He walked over to another corner of the room, one Elena didn't notice until now, and opened a big metal container. White smoke oozed from it, and she realised it was a freezer. Klaus took what looked like small syringes from the freezer and began pouring the blood into each one. He had completed a few when Elena found herself feeling faint.

"Time to experiment." Klaus chuckled once he felt happy enough. He threw the needles into a small black sports bag and left the basement.

"You won't get away with this." Elena gasped lightly with a pained voice. She knew that Stefan would be looking for her and begged him mentally to hurry.

Klaus stormed outside into the bitter cold. It had already been a long night. He climbed into his car, turned on the radio and sped down the road towards the college. It was approaching early morning, the base trembled throughout the car as he unrolled his windows and hurried through red lights.

"Tyler Lockwood. Caroline's boyfriend and luckily for me a werewolf. How perfect for my first trial." Klaus smirked to himself. He couldn't care less how this turned out, especially if it turned out bad for Tyler.

He pulled up to the college car park. He knew Tyler would be here in a few hours, and he didn't mind waiting. He waited patiently in the parking lot until students started arriving. The sun was now bright in the air, and the once quiet grounds became awfully loud as people caught up to their friends and groups started forming. Klaus finally left the car. He straightened out his jacket, and walked towards the building. It was old and looked fragile. Klaus walked through the crowd of young people placing their bags into boxes as they each walked through a metal detector, and pushed to the front. He compelled a security guard to let him in, and smirked as those behind him tried the same.

As Klaus approached the class he was searching for, he peered curiously into another. He was looking for Caroline. Klaus wanted to know if she'd bothered to show up, but found her seat, as well as Stefan's empty. "Excuse me, you wouldn't mind if I borrow Lockwood for a moment? I need a word." Klaus said gleefully as he opened the door to the correct room. The teacher was weary, she looked at Klaus with concern and reached for her glasses which sat on the desk near her fresh coffee mug. Her eyes met Klaus' and she had no choice but to let Tyler go.

Tyler sighed and grabbed his rucksack, he looked at his teacher, who was usually quite strict about letting students out of class during teaching and left the room. Klaus placed his hand on Tyler's shoulder and walked him towards a quiet looking hallway. Klaus looked at Tyler with a scowl on his face. This is really who Caroline wanted to be with? Interesting.

"Who are you?" Tyler questioned, standing fearless like a rebellious youngster.

"I know what you are." Klaus smiled, pulling a needle from his trouser pocket. Tyler laughed awkwardly as though someone was pranking him as he caught glimpse of the metal.
