Quinnlyns POV

It's been a few days since my conversation with Ben and it's fair enough to say, that I've never worked so damn hard in my life. There's a company building a few blocks away from my house and that's where I've begun my new occupation. My boss is a complete douche. He's arrogant, greedy, and shows no desire in his staff. Which also shows because my co-workers treat me like trash using my inexperienced trait to their advantage.

If I could, I would quit this job in a heartbeat. Pick up my stuff and go somewhere else. In my opinion, I don't think the money is even worth the way I'm treated but I really want to see Ariana again. The texts from a random number last night made me realize what I left. I'm comforted in the slightest knowing she still has my sweatshirt.

I have one more hour until my shifts over. If I wasn't getting my paycheck tonight then I would just dash out with no intention of returning but this will be it. This will be the paycheck that will send me out to see Ariana.

I'm actually on break right now for a little so I take my time sorting through papers and waiting in the lobby. The receptionist isn't even present so I help myself to the coffee machine behind the desk. Once my cup is full, I walk over to the balcony and rest my head on my hand, taking careful sips of the hot liquid.

"Quinn?"

I remove my hand from my hair and look in the distance in which my name was called.

"Yes?"

I don't have much of chance to even see who it is before the words start spilling from his mouth.

"Hey." He juts his hand out patiently waiting for mine.

I did not recognize the face smiling with bright teeth at me. But I had been taught manners so I unsteadily snaked my hand out to his and shook it with a tight grip. He must've noticed the lost look written on my face.

"Jordan." He shot up with eyebrows. "From high school?"

"Jordan." I repeat tapping my finger on my chin and pondering.

"The one who got in trouble for the weed all the time?"

"That's me." He said.

"Oh my gosh. Hey!"

He surely wasn't expecting the hug I was about to give him because when I embraced him, he lost his balance and we toppled over onto the leather couch behind us.

It may have only been for a second but my eyes connected with his. His lips forming an embarrassed smile and mine soon did the same. I slowly got off of him and laughed awkwardly at the event.

"Just like old times right?"

"Right." I say. "Just like old times."

This sends me into a drift. Jordan and I were BEST friends. He would always stick up for me and gave me the support and influence I needed. It was no surprise he eventually got caught selling pot brownies and blunts but my heart broke when he got expelled. It was a shocking coincidence to see him here, dressed in formal attire and clean cut.

"Man I missed you." He says sitting up right.

"I missed you too. How's your mom?"
