Chapter 2. Confidence

Time skip: a month after school started

Annie P.O.V.

It was lunch time. Mikasa, the rest if the group (except Connie and Sasha who were mysteriously missing) and I were sitting on a bench just chatting until I saw Eren, by his self.
"Hey, Eren!" I yelled.
He looked over at me.
"Wanna come sit with us?" I continued.
Eren gave a brief shrug and started to walk over to us.
"Who's that, your boyfriend?" Armin teased.
I blushed furiously at the thought of Eren being my boyfriend.
"No, he's just a friend," I replied calmly.

Once Eren arrived, we introduced him to all of our friends. He and Armin seemed to get along really well, it looked as if they had been friends for ages. For the first time, I saw what appeared to be a legitimate smile on Eren's lips.

"Hang on... is Mikasa closer to Eren than before?" I thought. This made me worry If she also had a crush on Eren. I had to act fast, just in case.
"Hey, Eren, can I talk with you for a sec?" I asked.
Eren looked away from Armin and nodded.

He followed me to a slightly quieter place.
"So what do you need?" Eren questioned.
"W-well I know we just met and stuff..." I said, starting to blush furiously, "but I-I think your... what I'm trying to say is..."
"Oh god, he probably thinks I'm a blabbing idiot," I thought, "no, I got this."
Suddenly, I felt very confident.
"Eren, I would like you to go on a date with me," I said very clearly.
There's no way he could have misheard. That fact was further confirmed by his eyes widening quite a large amount.
"Umm... sure," Eren said rather shakily.
This was the first time I had ever heard him sound nervous. It was actually quite cute. I smiled rather warmly and said thank you as we stated to head back to the others.

Mikasa P.O.V.

I was slightly worried. Annie had just asked to talk to Eren. My palms started to sweat. Worst case scenario would be Annie had asked Eren out, but that wouldn't happen right? I mean, Annie has never shown interest in boys before (I actually suspected she was a lesbian for a while). But then again, neither had I.

I then noticed the two of them coming back, Annie looking much happier than normal.
"Hey, guys," she said proudly, "me and Eren are going on a date Saturday!"
I felt like putting a gun against my head and pulling the trigger. I couldn't believe it. I didn't want to believe it. I had basically fallen in love with Eren and there he was, going on a date with Annie.
"What...?" I squeaked. It was all I could say. Annie had a malicious little smile on her face. Then I started to wonder if she new I loved him and was doing this out of spite. No, we've been friends for years, she wouldn't do something like that. She must of noticed I love Eren and panicked because she likes him too. Either way I wasn't happy.
"Cool," Armin said, "it's her first time going on a date so go easy on her," He added with a cheeky grin.

This instantly made Annie turn as red as a tomato, which in turn made me feel slightly better.
"Actually this will only be my second date," Eren said, which instantly made me feel depressed again.
"Really!?" Armin said, sounding more surprised than one would think, "I find that hard to believe since your a good looking guy."
"Oh I have been asked out before. Most of the time I would say no," He replied.

The look on Annie's face when he said that made me want to strangle her but I held back the urge.
"Mind telling us about your first date?" Krista asked.
"I do not wish to talk about it..." Eren said quietly.
"Oh sorry, did I just strike a nerve?" Krista asked.
"No its fine, you wouldn't have known without asking," Eren replied.
At that point the bell rang, signalling to go back to homeroom.

Time skip: after school

Annie P.O.V.

I walked home with Eren and Mikasa like usual that day. I was getting a cold vibe from Mikasa so I went up and talked to Eren.
"So what do you want to do for our date?" I asked him.
"I'm not too bothered, so you pick time and meet up point and we'll go from there," Eren answered.
"Okay... Saturday, 10 O'clock, meet at the town square," I replied.
"Sure," Eren said.

I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek to seel the deal. I didn't even have to look back to know Mikasa was pissed. That obviously wasn't my intent but it was rather humorous to see her reaction. I obviously wasn't doing this out of spite, what reason would I hate Mikasa for? I just really like Eren. I should probably tell her that before our friendship shatters.

As always, my house was the least distance from school so I was gone first. It didn't bother me that Eren and Mikasa were alone now because Eren didn't seem like the type of guys who would cheat so I have full confidence in him. I took one last look at Eren and yelled, "cya Saturday!" With a huge grin plastered across my face.
Eren raised his hand in salutation and walked off with Mikasa a couple steps behind him. I felt a bit sorry for her but I couldn't wait for my date with Eren. I closed the door, ran to my room, closed the door to my room, pounced on my bed and buried my face in my pillow, squealing like a little girl seeing a princess and pointing it out to her father. I couldn't wait till Saturday.

Mikasa P.O.V.

After arriving home, I walked up the garden path. I opened the door and yelled a quick hello to my mother, before running up the stairs, into my room and crying into my pillow. I didn't want it to happen. I loved Eren. I'm not even sure why. He just seemed so familiar. He was the only boy I ever fell in love with and Annie took him. I have to make sure their date ends in failure.

I had to sabotage the date.

A/N oooh cliff hanger. Mikasa seems pretty pissed, and why is Eren so familiar to her? Anyways, sorry this chapter is a bit shorter. I didn't have many ideas tho :P anyways, I don't exactly have a schedule for updates so I'll release chapter 3 when I do xD
