Jin stopped the car, the car was parked perfectly, they were hidden behind a big bush but at the same time had a clear view of the Hangang River. It was common knowledge that Idol's did not get to have any privacy, so if they wanted any they had to hide themselves well.
Jin turned his head to look at the little girl quietly snoring beside him.
"Jimin.... Jimin-ah, we're here... Jimin." Jin cooed.
"5 more minutes eomma... Just... 5" Jimin mumbled in her sleep, she must have been really tired because when Jin tried to wake her up again she hit him in the face, lightly but Jin still considered it as 'hitting'. Jin got out of the car chuckling at how cute she looked trying to fend him off with her eyes closed. Her mumbling and waving of hands continued even after Jin had exited the car.
Jin sat on the front bonnet of the car, he stretched out his arms and placed them under his head and positioned himself lower so that he was laying down looking at the horizon. A fine line separated the Han River and the night sky which still had a few shades of pink left in it mixed in with the now setting in blue. The stars had started to creep out; their glow still dim. The evening was leaving them and the night was setting in. Jin had practice in the morning, he started singing his bit of 'No More Dream', the song that Bangtan would debut with in a few weeks. Would they become an instant hit? He thought to himself, getting a little excited at the thought but then he calmed himself down, he had to be realistic. They would have to struggle for a bit before they hit it big ( there was a possibility that they'd be a flop).
He waved off the negative thoughts in his head; at least he tried to. There had always been this constant presence with him, in his mind. The presence spoke to him sometimes, it told him how worthless he was, it reminded him that it was only luck, 'pure luck' whenever he started to feel confident in his abilities. The voice had stopped him from ever tapping into his true potential. It had made him into something he was not born to be. Sure he loved himself very much but that love was a fake one, a love that he had created so that the world wouldn't pity him.
"What are you thinking about oppa?" a hoarse voice inquired, Jimin still hadn't fully waken up, you could tell as she stumbled over to Jin's side. Jin moved a little and patted the spot now available next to him on the bonnet of the car. As she tried to mount the car she failed miserably. Thankfully Jin was there to catch her, he pulled her up by her waist. A little embarrassed, Jimin was now fully awake.
"I'm hungry." Jin said, awkwardly staring off into the distance.
Jimin giggled at Jin's childish confession, "You can literally take the food out of the car and eat it. I won't kill you. Promise."
Jin eagerly got off the bonnet and got the food out of the car. There was an assortment of snacks and fried chicken. Jin merrily hopped up back on the car, food in his hands.
Jimin giggled at how adorable Jin looked enjoying his food. Even though Jimin had only met him twice including currently, Jin always had this look of wariness on his face, he always had an almost invisible guard up behind his smiles. But right now the guard had dissolved and he looked happy; munching on a chicken leg he turned to Jimin, his mouth covered with grease, "You want one?" He said offering another chicken leg to Jimin.
Jimin laughed out loud this time, Jin looked at her confused his mouth hanging open with food in it, a piece of crispy chicken skin hanging on the side of his mouth. The view just made Jimin laugh louder, "No thank you. I don't enjoy chicken very much," Jimin quickly composed herself but Jin's mouth just opened wider after her saying that.
"You dawnt like chicken...ugh..argh"
"Spit it out Oppa!"
"No... argh arghh!" Jin was choking on a piece of chicken but refused to spit it out, Jimin quickly opened up a can of Sprite and handed it to Jin who gulped it down graciously.
Jimin was truly appalled at the man in front of her who continued to eat another piece of chicken, his cheeks tinted red from embarrassment but mostly because THE MAN HAD JUST LET HIMSELF CHOKE ON CHICKEN! WILLINGLY!
"You are really unique." Jimin said smiling, her head turned to look at the stars. Jimin heard the crinkling of plastic after which she was nudged in the shoulder with a really sharp elbow.
"Not more than you. You're a monster for not liking this international delicacy," he pulled his tongue out at Jimin while waving a half-eaten chicken leg in the air and then handed her an open bag of chips, "If you don't like sour-cream chips than you're the devil himself." Jimin looked at the bag of chips and then at Jin and then at the bag again. She grabbed the bag from his hands and gave him a little smile before she placed a clip on the open bag and handed it back to Jin.
"Satan!" Jin screamed pointing a chicken bone at Jimin like a sword, he then continued to pick another and make a cross with both of them, "Be gone!"
Jimin just looked at Jin horrified, because she had figured out that it was a joke but his joke delivery was so serious that it was hard not to believe that he was exorcising her. Jimin laughed at the awkward situation her horrified expression had created for Jin because he was now embarrassedly withdrawing his cross. She felt bad for not laughing at his gag, so she grabbed his arm, signalling for him to look at her.
"You're jokes are good, you just need better delivery Oppa," Jin smiled a little and offered her the bag of chips again.
"I can't. They're my favourite but I'm on a strict diet." Jimin said half-smiling, but Jin did not move the bag from in front of her.
"Are you sure today's not a cheat day." He said waving the chips in front of her face but Jimin ignored him and started to take out her IPod from the little bag resting on her lap.
"I need to get not fat therefore no day is a cheat day." She whispered to herself while scrolling through her playlist.
"You think you're fat?" Jin asked not looking at her, still holding the bag of chips close to her.
"You don't?" Jimin asked, still looking down at her IPod but completely still.
"I think that these chips have 85.7 calories and that you can easily burn those calories by walking around the Han River for 15 to 20 mins. That's what I think. What about you?"
"And you'll walk with me?" Jin nodded, with a solid smile gracing his face.
Jimin grabbed the bag of chips from him and started munching on them. "Soooooooooo gooooood!" Jimin mumbled while chewing. And Jin agreed after stealing a chip from her and placing it in his mouth. Jimin scowled at him but continued to eat, making horrifyingly cute sounds while enjoying her food. The site of Jimin eating was so adorable that Jin couldn't help but pinch her cheek. "Aigoo! The chicken hater eats chips so well." Jimin continued to munch on the chips while smiling like a dork. She was in her happy place.
Jimin picked up an ear phone and offered it to Jin, while shoving a tissue onto his greasy face, Jin grabbed it laughing and continued to wipe his face with it. Jimin shoved the ear phone into Jin's ear, he muttered a little 'Ouch! So violent.' before readjusting the earphone in his ear.
They stayed like that for one more hour. Gazing at the stars, while listening to music and feasting on snacks. The 85.7 calories were not burnt that night, Jin was glad Jimin didn't mention it because he'd throw up his food rather than walk a mile.
Jin drove Jimin back to her dorm. They exchanged numbers and she thanked him and apologized over a 100 times for keeping him for so long, before he was allowed to leave. Surprisingly her dorm was very close to Bangtan's, Jin walked himself home without much struggle and that's saying something (there was still a little struggle involved). He fell asleep the second his head hit the pillow. For the first time in a very long time he did not have a nightmare. The evil voice in his head had surrendered for tonight; it felt good.
