"I hope you all enjoy your stay." The owner says as she gives us the key to our rooms.

"Thanks." Derek says putting my bags down in my rooms and she walks away leaving us to settle into our rooms with the Jack and Jill bathroom.

"This is a very nice place." I comment as I look out the window of my room. It was a beautiful lake side view, families are on the other side of the lake, children running around his and playing. Couples walking hand in hand laughing with each other.

"Everywhere we've been was very nice." Derek says, "Your words, not mine."

"Which place was your favorite?" I ask him.

"Washington, by far." I tell him as he joins me at the window, "The weather was so beautiful up there. The places we visited in our one day there were amazing. I loved it so much, maybe one day, when I'm finished with school, if my job permits, I'll be able to live there."

"What about your father and me?" He asks.

"You're welcome to join me." I tell him, "Trevor and my father too. I just want to be able to start again. Somewhere where people don't think I'm stupid because I can't speak."

"People that think that are idiots, you're brilliant, smarter than I am." Derek says.

"That's not true. You're very smart too."  I tell him.

"Now let's enjoy the time we've got here." Derek says, "You can unpack later, right now, I want to go swimming, then we can go visit the theatres." He continues, "I have tickets to see a performing arts school's Anastasia."

"Crest Theatre?" I ask him and he confirms it.

I sit on the beach reading my book and watching as Derek swims around and talks to one of the boys he met and they tread water before beginning a race.

They come in almost a half a second apart. The other boy just a bit ahead since he seems about a half an inch taller

"Rosie." Derek waves me over, "Come hey say, I mean say hey to speedy."

"Hey, I'm Rosalyn," I tell him holding out a hand for him.

"I'm Brent, nice to meet you Rosalyn," He says shaking my hand. It surprises me that he doesn't need a translation

"How did the two of you meet?" I ask him, "Since it seems you've hit it off in the past five minutes."

"Derek's one heck of a bona fide charismatic man." Brent says, "It's amazing, epic, genius."

"I feel like you're trying to talk about my boyfriend, but not quite getting onto the point." I joke with Brent, Derek gives me a hurt look, "Derek, you know I'm joking, you're a charmer." I tease him.

"He is that." Brent says, "I have to go, my boyfriend is waiting at the restaurant to have lunch, you two should join us."

"What do you think Rosie?"

"I don't know, are you going to ogle over my boyfriend with your boyfriend making me jealous?" I ask skeptically but teasingly, he gets the message.

"Don't worry, we'll keep our hands off," He jokes back.

"I now know what it's like to be fought over like a girl." Derek says, "It's very emasculating."

Brent laughs and leads us to the restaurant. A young man dressed sharply in a suit meets us and gives Brent a big hug. Brent speaks quietly with, who I'm going to assume is his boyfriend lets out a loud hearty laugh.
