Previously on Saving Liam

In the booth that we were sitting at he was sitting on one side of the table and me on the other, he stands up and comes and sits next to me. He wraps an arm around me while I try to stop crying. I swear, but I couldn’t help the one about Clark, I always get emotional thinking about him.

But then, Liam’s voice finds a way to silence my thoughts.

“I know I can’t replace his special place in your heart Lois, but I want to try for a spot next to it”

I can feel my cheeks burn up as a smile takes over my face. I hug him back tighter as my mind fills the words, “This is a fairytale, a dream come true.”

“It is?” Liam asks me.

Crap… I said that out loud didn’t I.

“Um… yeah, I guess. I mean who wouldn’t think that about what has happened today?”

“True, so back at the arena you said something about ice cream?” He winks at me, my stomach flips. I hope that he didn’t notice that I barely touched my food.

We both laugh and get up and he orders ice cream for the both of us while I check my phone

He comes back with two extra-large blizzards one with M&M and the other with Oreos. Oh man.

“I didn’t know which one that you wanted so I guessed. You can have your pick.”

I slowly scoot the M&M’s one closer to me while laughs and takes the one with Oreos and sticks a fork in it.

“Why did they hand it to me upside down?” he asks me.

“Oh that is just there ‘thing’, I guess.”

“Oh.”

We sit in silence while we eat our ice cream until is almost gone until I take some on my spoon and use the spoon as a catapult and I fling ice cream at him, hitting his cheek.

“What was that for?!” he asks while I am laughing my head off.

“I- I did- didn’t mean- mean too.” I laugh out. Oh but I did mean too.

“Uh huh.” He says before a streak of ice cream lands on my face.

“Ah hem, Kids?” the older cashier says eyeing us over the counter.

I laugh at Liam as we clean ourselves up and leave.

He turns on the cars CD player and then we both burst out loud laughing when the one and only ‘Night Changes’ comes through the speakers of the car.
