41: Surprise

Alex looked down as he looked down at the pregnant Alia as she played around with someone’s twins.

“Pregnant, man Cory you went in fast,” Alex said to himself and smiled.

No doubt about it Alex was excited that Cory was being a father and living up to his abilities but being Cory’s angel he knew what Cory was going to run into whether it was good or bad, and from the look on his face there was some bad coming up.

Today was the day, I could help but to go see my baby even though I wasn’t supposed to be seeing her until her next doctor’s appointment but I missed her. Every second I was stuck thinking about her smile, the way she laughed, and most of all her eyes. The way she looked at me and talked to me made me miss her even more.

As I walked downstairs the whole team and Brenden was standing there and I couldn’t help but to laugh.

“Man, yall trippin aint yall gotta practice to attend to?” I questioned and Brenden laughed.

“Man we just wanted to congratulate you on your mini you, we know you going to be a great father to the kid, plus Alia fine as hell,” he joked and I looked dead at him and shook my head.

“Alright man, I’ll tell Alia you said what’s up and for the rest of the team; my spirit will always be on the field.”  I said and they all shook their heads in agreement.

I have everyone daps and walked out of the dorm to see Chaz just standing there easing me up and down as if I was one of his bitches or something.

"So Alia pregnant, shocking," he sighed and cracked a smiled; "I always thought that she would have my baby."

I just stood there laughing; I wasn't going to let Chaz make me angry my whole trip to Miami. I knew he was mad about me snatching up his high school sweetheart.

I put my hand on his shoulder and smiled, "Man you one difficult dude to impress you know that? Look you lost; she's my girl, the mother of my firstborn and love of my life so from the looks of things I'm here to stay." I explained and he shrugged my hand off my shoulder and I laughed.

“So you think she going to just run in your arms my nigga, man it’s hard to have Alia let me go, remember I’m her first everything from kiss to sex and trust me she’ll never forget, all it takes is the most sincere apology for her to be back in my arms.” He explained and I sighed continued walking to the rental car that I picked up earlier.

As I got in the driver’s seat I looked back at Chaz and he slowly waved at me. I couldn’t help but to think that he could be right, this dude was the starting point of Alia’s love life that was her first love, her first everything. If anything that dude had a hold on her that no one did, I didn’t have that, me and Alia were barely into five months of dating so any argument that came up or anything, I was going to get cut off simple as that.

I took a deep breath and sighed. I had to snap out of it, I wasn’t going to let no one like Chaz literally get to my head especially at a time when I am supposed to be a father to this unborn child.

The Next Morning

“So what you going to name her or him?” Adia questioned as she cuddled up all close to me putting her hand on my stomach and I smiled.

“I don’t know Adia, that’s between me and Cory to decide, plus we don’t know if it’s a girl or a boy.” I answered and she smiled from ear to ear.

“Well if it’s a girl you should name her something with an A so she could fit with me, you and Aziza.”

“Nice idea Adia, I’ll keep that in mind when we find out the sex of the baby.” I said and she gave me the tightest hug and walked back to her room.

I was happy that everyone was supporting me right now with the baby, the fact that Cory wasn’t here to really help hands on, my family was here to support me every step of the way. I wasn’t going to have Cory literally end his career in something he loved for me, I wanted him to live up to his dreams just like how I was pregnant or not. I know that Cory was going to always make trips to come and see his child no matter what.

I reached in my purse and took out my pills and spilled out two big tablets on the palm of my head. I really hated taking these pills but if I was going to breast feed I had to take it.

I swallowed the pills and water it down completely rolling my eyes trying to not think about the nasty ass taste in my mouth.

I got up and heard a knock on the door and walked over to the door and looked into the peephole and saw Leo literally standing there with flowers in his hand. I literally couldn’t help but to laugh seeing him there. I mean last time we literally saw each other was when he was doing my sonograph of the baby and I know that was a weird situation that I was in.

I opened the door and looked straight at him.

“These are for you,” he said handing me the tulips, one of my favorite. I took the flowers and cracked a smile and looked at him, “So you going to let me in or you still weirded out about the last appearance we had together?” he asked and I moved out the way and let him in closing the door behind me.

I walked over and sat on the couch and put the tulips in a vase beside me and he sat on the far end of the couch and smiled at me.

“So you got another job as a flower delivery boy?” I asked and he smiled from ear to ear.

“Naw, I aint the flower boy type of dude.”

“So I thought you only worked at the jail, when did sonographer become part of your resume?”

“When I started medical school, I hope you’re taking your pills by the way,” he asked and I raised my brow at him.

“Damn Doctor, when did this happen?” I laughed and he just shown those beautiful teeth at me and I couldn’t help but to smile harder.

“Girl you better calm down with those fat girl ankles,” he joked and I stuck out my tongue and smiled.

“Cankles honey, and plus it comes all the time, I hate it.” I sighed putting my legs up relaxing my ankles and he deeply sighed and scooted closer to me and put my legs on his lap and started massaging them.

“Quick tip, you want these cankles to stop, soak your feet into some warm water and Epson salt and you’ll be fine until then I got you.” He said and I smiled.

There was something about this boy that always hit me straight in my heart that made me smile from ear to ear. The way he presented himself and talked to women showed that he wasn’t going to let little things annoy him…. Like Cory.

He kissed my legs literally slipping a small moan from me and I looked back to see Adia standing at the corner snickering and smiling.

“How long you been there?” I asked and she leaned on the wall.

“Long enough,” she answered and someone knocked on the door and obviously I was to occupied into my foot massage that Leo was giving me and at the same time he was tickling my legs knowing that was my sensitive spot and I kicked him in the stomach.

“Stop.” I said and he smiled from ear to ear and I laughed while Adia opened the door.

I looked over at the door and I quickly rose up and my eyes started to well up.

“Well I hope this is a surprise,” he said throwing the bouquet of flowers on the floor and walked out the door.

Damn.
