Jon's P.O.V

This whole protector thing is actually great! I have my best friend back, along with a few new ones. Mo is, in one word, amazing! I can't even lie, I was thrilled when I thought she could be my mate. She's beautiful, caring, funny and very sweet. These are things that every male wolf wants in his mate. I can only hope that my mate brings me as much happiness as Mo gives Miles.

It's a funny story now that we know what i'm really here for. But at first, I thought miles would actually kill me. And being the first person he called after that stuff with his mom's boyfriend, i know his wolf won't hesitate to kill. I can tell how much they both love Mo and I was stupid to think that she could in any way be mine. But that didn't stop me from wanting her, in the beginning. Even while my wolf kept telling me that she will never be mine.

 I can't fight the unease I feel about this whole situation, with Miles wanting to go after those guys in Oakland. He's assured me daily that everything will be okay, but my worries lie with Mo. She'll worry so much that I will have no choice but to tell her. Although Miles in now officially my Alpha, my loyalties lie mostly with Mo. Being that I'm actually HER protector, my wolf will always submit to her, regardless of what Alpha order has been issued by her mate.

"Jon, how about that rematch?" Ant's voice popped out of nowhere.  I just smiled at he memory of me beating him last time.

"Are you sure? Wouldn't want the Beta upset. Again!" I joked.

He didin't respond, just threw a controller my way. I laughed while he turned the game on. This was a much needed distraction and I really enjoyed Ant's company. He, Miles and I were like three peas in a pod now and I knew that after this was all over, it would be hard to leave them all behind and return to my own pack.

Miles' P.O.V.

All week I've tried lagging off of my Alpha duties, just to spend time with Mo. She's a bit suspicious, but I try to take her mind off all our problems. Hiding my thoughts and feelings from her hasn't been easy, but I think she knows something is up. She's probably just waiting for me to tell her myself. I've held it in this long, but tonight I have to tell her about Oakland, because we leave in the morning.

Ant, Jon and I have been talking and mapping out a plan with Paul. He agrees that this stand still has got to come to an end. We don't know what these wolves wanted or were trying to find, but we will shortly. Paul feels that there's something going on also, but so far nothings happened on their end. But all that will come to an end shortly, but first I have to tell Monique.

"Babe, did you hear me?" Mo asked, peeking her head inside my office.

"Huh? Sorry, I was just thinking. Did you need something?' I asked, opening her arms open for her. She curled upon my lap. Well tried to but her her belly was getting in the way.

"No.  I'm just board. Carmen's hogging all of Aiden's time, while Jon and Ant are playing video games. Again!' she grumbled, causing me to laugh.

"So you just want some attention?" 

"Yeah!" she said lowly.

"Well you got it. Now, what do you want to do?"

For the next few hours Mo and I stayed cooped up in my office. She helped me organize some of the packs paperwork. We played numerous card games. And when she got more board, we cuddled up on the couch and through around a few baby names. 

I didin't realize it'd be so hard to choose a name and we had to choose two! But we didn't find a couple we liked, but nothing really stuck out. We knew for sure we were having at least one boy, but opted out of knowing that sex of the other until birth. Even though I had to persuade my wolf not to tell either of us.
