"I just found the key..."
I unhook it from the book and walk over to the locked door, hesitantly I push the key into the lock, but I don't turn it.
They kept it locked for a reason.
I need to know.
What if I'm not supposed to know?
But I need answers.
Turning the lock I await some sort of magic spell to burst right into my face to protect whatever's behind the door, but nothing happens, it just unlocks like a normal door.
It's a small room with one simple drawer standing at the opposite wall, only two people maybe can fit in here at once.
Should I tell them now or wait?
Should I tell all of them?
Without making too much noise I open the first drawer, to reveal a bunch of notebooks. All of them has old, black leather covers and a string to wrap around to keep it shut.
I pick one up and turn it in my hand, the first page has my mom's name written in her handwriting on the first page.
Day 1.
Fed once.Day 2.
Didn't feed.Day 3.
Didn't feed.Day -
I close it and put it back, picking up a new one that has dad's name written in it instead.
Business
New project with Connor Lane.I close that one too and just start searching through the second drawer, which holds tons of pictures.
A picture of mom while pregnant, hands on her bare belly as she smiles widely at the camera.
Another one's of grandpa sleeping on the couch with the tv on.
One that catch my attention the most is a ultrasound one, and I pick it up to get a better angle at it.
If I'm correct is shows two babies, me and my unborn sibling.
I was supposed to have a sibling.
I was not supposed to be the only crossedbreed alive.
I pick up another one, a family photo of dad's side.
Dad told me that vampire's can see themselves in mirrors and pictures, but humans can't.
Therefore this picture to a human would just look like a picture of the front of a house.
It's grandma sitting in a chair, her silky black hair in a pretty braid over her left shoulder and a pretty purple gown. Dad's standing stiff as a board beside grandpa.
Underneath it says; "Layla with her husband George and son Colt, the family Bloodworth, 1838."
So that's what they both look like.
I haven't seen them in my entire life, and that's because they didn't want anything to do with me being a crossedbreed.
Though I heard grandpa ran off before he even got the news, and grandma just didn't like the news she got after he bailed.
