Dan's mother knew that her son was different, and the rest of his family did too. He had his "watching" habits, which didn't seem like a problem in the beginning, they thought he was just interested in the world around him. Nope.
It wasn't normal when the boy did it hours upon hours. Exactly why every day Dan's mother would call desperately to her friends, asking if they knew why. But they didn't, and today was the last straw, like always Dan was sat on the windowsill, brown eyes staring intently.
"Daniel."
"Hm?" He turned to face her, blinking a few times.
"What are you doing pressed against the window?" She questioned, rocking her other son in her arms.
"Watching" Sighing, Heather began to think of ways to help him.
"Who?" She leaned to look out the window, seeing the family "oh"
"They have a boy, two boys!" He giggled
"I see." Turning on her heel she went into the nursery, dressing Adrian in a knit sweater with cotton pants and laid him in the carrier, covering him in a blanket.
Walking back into her sons room, she instructed him to put on his coat and shoes. They were going out to meet the new family, she placed some freshly made cookies onto a plate.
"I'm ready mummy" Dan whispered, jumping down the last step and latching onto his mothers other hand.
They soon arrived at the house, similar to their house, except it was bright blue. Knocking on the door, a woman with curly brown hair soon opened the door. Smiling, Dan's mother introduced herself along with her sons, and handed the plate to the woman.
"Hello Daniel, would you like to meet Phillip?" She asked, kneeling in front of the boy.
"Yes!!" Dan laughed, bouncing on his heels.
She stood up, turning and shouting for her son.
Soon a boy taller than Dan, with ginger hair and bright blue eyes appeared.
"Why don't you boys go play outside?"
"Okay." Phil replied, leading Dan outside.
Phil's mother gestured for her to come in, and she did. Sitting Adrian down, she sighed.
"What's wrong?" She asked
"Daniel really needs friends, its saddening watching him."
"Oh I'm sure my Phillip will change that, no need to worry" Anne smiled, "now let's see the baby" She made grabby hands at Adrian, Heather simply laughed.
