Kate

The months passed peacefully. I took turns with Clarisse with training the new campers. The Hermes cabin had outlived their rewards and the Ares cabin had all but forgotten about their prank.

I was running the camp beautifully if I say so myself. Everything went smoothly. Artemis and her hunters had returned only once since the game but refused a rematch. There have been no more quests or prophecies at all and everyone was happy about that. The seasonal campers had left for their homes two months ago, including Jason, Frank, and Hazel who went to Camp Jupiter.

And today is Halloween. I was going on a double date with Percy and Annabeth to a haunted house that the gods had set up in the mortal world to celebrate the holiday. My date? Apollo. He was thrilled because I finally agreed to date him. Since then we had been on ten dates, all of which he tried to prove how qualified he was.

I was waiting with Annabeth at the hearth in the center of the cabins for the boys to arrive. Just then, Percy and Apollo appeared from Percy's cabin. "Ready to be scared beyond belief?" Apollo laughed and I took his hand.

"We both know you will be the one scared." I laughed.

"Seaweed Brain, will I have to comfort you?" Annabeth fake pouted.

"Come on Wise Girl, I'm not afraid of anything." Percy responded proudly.

"Boo!" I shouted in his ear.

"Ahh- I mean ha, haha. Very funny Kate." He laughed nervously as all laughed at him.

We walked behind the Apollo cabin, where he parked his chariot. It was in the form of a bright yellow ferrari. We all got in the car. I sat in the passenger seat next to Apollo and Percy and Annabeth sat in the back seat.

The haunted house was fun. Luckily for Annabeth, there were no spiders. But there were plenty of real mummies and skeletons, courtesy of Hades. We had just got back to camp and Apollo had decided to stay the night here. I invited him to stay with me and Percy. Annabeth went back to her own cabin.

Percy went to sleep right away while I took a shower first. Now I was sitting on the edge of my bed while Apollo sat behind me braiding my hair. It was the little things, like this, that he did that only made me love him more.

"So how is the new job?" He whispered.

"Good. A little stressful since Chiron left, but it's still running smoothly." I answered.

Chiron had left a week ago to visit friends in Canada. He wasn't due back for another week. "Well remember, I'm here if you need me." He responded.

We were quiet for a moment before I spoke again. "You could stay for a few days. We never get to be together very much anymore."

He hugged me from behind. "I would love that, my princess."

"I would too, my prince."

We sat like that for a moment. I leaned into his arms and he tucked his face into my neck, gently kissing my shoulder. He separated and we both laid under the covers. He pulled me close to his chest, and wrapped his arms around me. He curled around me and effectively trapped me in his grip. But I didn't mind. I adjusted so I could see his face. He fell asleep, but I stayed awake, gently tracing his features with my fingers. I remembered when we became friends. We had known each other before that, but we became friends over a different thing, when I was little.

"You're gonna sleep tonight, okay?" Apollo smiled at me.

I nodded, trying to convince myself. After my mother was killed and I moved in with the gods, I got extreme insomnia. So much, to the point where the other gods were worried that I was slowly killing myself. They asked Apollo to get me to sleep tonight, no matter what it took. He could have just used a sleeping spell, but to make me trust him he wanted to get me to sleep on my own.
