**Chapter 6: Just Arrived
Part 1: Just Like Matt
Startled at the ringing of my phone, I open my eyes and bolt straight up to a sitting position. I reached for my phone a few inches away from my fingers. Big letters showed, 'BIG SISTER'. Dana's calling me. Wait, Dana's calling me? Still confused, I dropped the call. Why did I do that? I scratched my head and looked around. Uh-oh...I'm not at Dana's!
I was relieved when I saw I was in the same clothes I was the previous night. I forced myself to remember what had happened last night. I bury my eyes in the pillow I laid my head on. Oh gosh! I throw the pillow away, recalling the fact that it wasn't mine. I stand up and start pacing across the room. I opened the door and stepped out to what I figured was the dining room. I didn't get drunk last night- I'm so sure of it! But everything felt like a dream...
I took a deep breath, whispering the words, 'Calm down. Don't panic. We'll figure this out.'. As I began to get a better recollection of last night, the words changed to, 'Oh no, Sarah. What have you done? Have you lost your mind?! Running off with a stranger! You're in such big trouble!' I slap myself, thinking it might be just a dream. Ouch! That actually hurt! I started laughing to myself trying to forget about the whole night and focusing on how ridiculous I was acting.
"Good morning." I turn around to see the guy I expected to see. "Did you sleep well?" he asked casually, as he took a sip from his mug of dark beverage.
My eyes narrowed. "You didn't drug me, got me drunk, or anything- did you?" I took a few steps closer to him. "Because-" I continued. Sitting nicely on the chair beside him, I breathed heavily again and tried to look as calm and collected as I possibly could. "-it took me quite a while to remember where I was. And I don't think I would actually come with you in my right mind."
"Okay." he started, putting down his mug. "I didn't drug you or got you drunk. It was probably because you stayed up so late. People start going crazy when they stay up too late." He takes a sip from his mug again. He put down his coffee and went to the counter to pour another cup. After which, he offered me a mug and smiled.
I hesitated, alternately switching my glances between him and the mug he was holding. I bite my lower lip and shake my head. "Uhm, it's fine. I'm not really a coffee person." I said nervously. After my sentence ended, he lets out a playful chuckle.
He raised his eyebrows. "Really? 'Cause last night, you told me you love coffee." I felt my forehead starting to sweat. I look around the room uneasily. He held up the coffee again. "No? I didn't drug it or anything." He assured me, laughing once again. I took in a deep breath and exhaled deeply. Fine. I thought. I took the mug from his hands and surrendered to the mesmerizing aroma and bitter-sweet taste.
Besides, if he were to do something wrong, he would probably have done it. Right?
The coffee calmed me down a bit. I drank from my mug, staring at the green frog picture in the guy's mug. His name...his name...why can't I remember his name?
A familiar ring snapped me out of my reverie. Dana. I answered the phone as soon as I can. "Hey Sarah! You still with Kevan?" Kevan...that's the name, right.
