Hats Off (kevedd)

Holiday Weekend Part. 1

AN: This chapter will most likely be in three parts. 

Thanks to the facebook group, the cul de sac gang was able to organize a massive camping trip back in the woods of their hometown for one holiday weekend. Although Double D has his conflictions with, oh dear, open nature, he loved the outdoors as long as you were prepared for every situation possible. He packed everything necessary for the trip, first aid, quite time entertainment, a surplus a food, several maps, and extra blankets. What he wasn't prepared for was enduring the driving distance as the Edds trio.

"Ed put that rubber chicken down it's blocking my peripheral vision."

"But Double D the chicken only wants to fly."

"Didn't you hear the nerd you lug head? But the damn chicken down."

"It's not dumb Eddy!"

"Oh yeah?!"

"Please no fighting in the vehicle."

"Like the that's fucking going to happen."

"Suppress the urge gentlemen!"

And so on and so forth. Double D had to continuously remind himself that he was driving the two of them because he valued their friendship because at times (like when Eddy would spill his soda on the car seats, or when Ed would leave his food wrappers on the ground) he forgot. He did get an offer from Kevin to ride with him to the camping site. That of course would even be more disastrous. Double D had been avoiding any kind communication with Kevin since that day at the swim meet and to suddenly put them in a car together and force them to talk to one another for an extensive amount of time would be too much. As far as Kevin knows, Double D has been busy with school, work, and swimming and is looking forward to his time hanging out with his friends. All of those things were true more or less.

"Hey Nerd are you listening?" Eddy said in between stuffing his face with a bag of potato chips in the passenger seat. Double D cringed as he watched the crumbs fall onto his shirt and some eventually onto the car floor and seat. God help him.

"Sorry Eddy I was lost in thought. You see lately-"

"Yeah yeah yeah. Will talk about that later promise. Right now we need to develop a plan."

"A plan for what Eddy?"

"A plan for me to confess to Naz and avoiding the kanker sisters all in one go."

Double D rolled his eyes. When has avoiding the sisters ever worked? Trick question. It has never worked. Edd had almost forgot that the sisters were going to the camping trip as well. "So you're worried about Lee then?"

Double D could visually see Eddy shiver, "Hell yes. I bet she hasn't changed. How can she not change."

As far as Double D knew, Marie had moved on with her girlfriend, May and Ed got along great (even though the were not dating for christ sakes just hug already), but Eddy and Lee was another story. Lee was still just as obsessed with Eddy just as she was all those years ago. In fact, her obsession might have even gotten worse in high school. She got smarter about it. Her approach was still aggressive but it transitioned into several heated stares, lingering touches, and just plain groping. Least to say, she was very happy that Eddy had stayed in shape and was still terrified of her.

Double D couldn't help but laugh, "Do you need a sexual assault whistle so we can rush to your aid? I'm sure she's gonna try and make up for the lost time apart."

"Not funny. I'm already traumatized."

"Alright then. So how were you thinking of confessing to Naz."
