You decided to go outside.
You crept over to your window, careful not to make any sounds.
You opened the window, unlatching the locks. You crawled out of it. You smiled, thankful you installed the latter. You crawled down the it, making sure you avoided the squeaky ones. You knew how the latter was. Which ones to step on. Which ones to avoid. You've went down the latter so many times, you knew it like the back of your hand.
You jumped down the rest of the way, feeling it was safe.
You looked around. It was dark. Too bad you forgot a flashlight. Good thing you lived here all your life. You knew this place perfectly. Otherwise you wouldn't be in a very good place. You weren't now, but at least you knew your way around the place.
You jogged around for a while, until you came to a jolting stop.
You heard another scream.
You look towards where it came from, and ran towards it.
You saw something. A shadow stood.
Another weird and unusual thing you noticed, was that it had a face. It was close to a human face, but different.
You dwarfed in comparison to the looming shadow. It was about eight feet tall. The thing had arms and legs, but not hands or feet. The limbs just ending in a sharp point. The thing was like a normal shadow, only because it was a dark, black. The thing had something close to a human face, only not. It had two, solid white eyes. They weren't normal, though. They were like someone or something had taken a knife, and cut deep gashes of white into it's face. If you can call it that. The eye gashes consisted of four, wide marks on each. The only thing you could see from them was the color white. Like a void. No color was able to get in. No color was able to show. The smile, rather smirk, was a wide, toothy grin, that, if on a human, was literally ear to ear. Like the eyes, it was also solid white. The thing had no nose or ears. The body was slim. You heard about Slenderman, but... You couldn't imagine ever seeing something even remotely close to it.
You backed away from it. Right before you went to turn away from it, you saw the bloody body of your mother laying dead on the ground. Tears gathered in your eyes. Disbelief swelled in your chest. You choked on the air.
No. No, she couldn't be dead. You thought. You were wrong. You, now very afraid, turned and ran. Away from the thing. Away from your mother's unconscious body.
You ran towards the house. You heard a scream coming from inside, and got scared again.
Instead, you ran towards the hill. You normally went there when you were scared. When you felt uneasy or... Sad or any other negative emotion.
You ran up the stairs, that led to the top. Crawling up the last couple. You layed down beside the tree that you planted atop the hill, many years ago. You stared at the starry sky. There were many. Hundreds. Their many, vibrant colors sparkled brightly. You smiled slightly, momentarily forgetting about her death. There were many colors. Blue, white, yellow, even some reds.
You closed your eyes, and sighed contentedly.
In your moment of comfort, you forgot what you came out here for.
That was broken, by a scream.
You sat up, startled. You crawled over to the side of the hill, looking down at the mansion you live in.
Your eyes widened. You rubbed your eyes, to make sure you weren't seeing things. But... You saw right. Multiple copies of the... Thing you saw earlier, were scattered across the yard. They only had slight differences. Most of them didn't have the mouth or eyes of the first one. Only... It was as if... The only thing that existed with and inside of them was... Darkness. They were like an endless void of nothing. No light. No hope. No color. Only darkness.
You heard a crunching of leaves behind you. You turned around, startled. Yet, you saw nothing. Nothing at all. You shook your head, thinking you imagined it, because you were tired. But when you turned back to look at the mansion again, you heard the sound again. You turned back. Nothing.
You decided to ignore it. You looked over the mansion again. There was slight differences this time. The most prominent one, however, was the balcony. There stood the first shadow thing you saw.
The way it was standing looked... Like it was proud, somehow. Like it was... Happy.
You saw something else, though. In it's hands... More like it's arms. It had no hand when you saw it. It held another body. You squinted your eyes. Tried to make out whoever's body that was.
You wish you hadn't.
In it's arms. Was your father's body.
You gasped, choking on air, once again. You broke out in tears, once again. Happy moment forgotten. You tried to scream. To call for help. Anyone.
But no one came.
Silence.
The realization hit you. Everyone. Everyone you knew. Dead. Killed. Murdered.
You cried. Sobbed.
You heard the noise come from behind you, once more.
Heh...
You dropped to the ground. Crying.
Too busy crying, to notice the thing behind you.
Your own wails of despair was the last thing you heard, when the thing picked you up.
You looked sadly into it's eyes. But smiled anyway.
It's sharp toothed grin widened. You knew what was going to happen. And you were happy. That suprised you.
Your family, friends, loved ones. Everyone you knew was dead. You couldn't have done anything about it, either. You knew this.
You smiled in the face of Death.
Heh...
He smiled right back.
Next thing you saw...
Darkness
