Deception
Cassie's POV
I wake up to the beeping of my alarm clock. I annoyedly slam the snooze button, wanting a few more minutes of sleep.
"Cassie!" I faintly hear my older sister Abby yell. "You're gonna be late!"
I groan before flinging the white duvet away from my body. I pull a grey cardigan over my black tank top and scurry down the stairs. I can smell the bacon from the hallway, and I open the kitchen door to see my sister cooking it over the stove.
"Now hurry and eat, before mom and dad wake up." I nod my head, and sit at the wooden table.
My parents, if you could even call them that, are all-day drunks. They are abusive, and my older sister has gotten used to being the 'mom' of our house over the years.
My sister promised me that as soon as she had the money we could move, just me and her. I dream for that day. We have no family left, no where to go.
I grab a few strips of the bacon and go back to my room to get ready for the day.
As I quickly throw away the food, I pull out a pair of black leggings and a grey sweater. I throw them on, pulling my tan uggs out in the mean time. I grab my bracelets, stacking them on my left wrists carefully, so no one can see the harm I do to myself.
I started cutting myself 2 years ago, when I was 16. That was about the time my parents turned from the nicest people on earth, to the exact opposite.
I had over twenty cuts on my left arm, some rather deep, and some that barely bled. My sister didn't know about my cutting, no one did. No one even knew about my anorexia. My parents didn't care, but if my sister found out, it would be the worst day of my life.
No one knows about my severe depression, cutting, anorexia, or even bulimia.
No one understands.
No one cares enough to understand.
They don't know what I've been through.
They don't know about all the nights I cried myself to sleep.
They don't know anything.
And that's why everyone thinks my life is perfectly fine.
Because my life is one big deception.
