"Jake!" Taylor squealed as well.  She ran to her friends side, "Oh, Jake.  Why didn't you just use your sword?"

Jake's head was now in Taylor's lab with his chest continuously bleeding from the wound.  "Don't know," Jake finally confessed.  "Guess I played a stupid move there, huh?"

"No kidding!  Jake, you've made a possibly fatal mistake," Taylor's words were completely full of sorrow.

"I won't miss this time!" Rosemary yelled.  All of a sudden, she felt something grab her leg, "Huh?"

"Rose, please don't," Ashurie said while waking up.

Out of nowhere, a dragon tail appeared out of Rosemary tailbone.  Her eyes began to glow red, " STAY OUT OF THIS!"  Rose's tail swung at Ashurie and sent him flying till he hit the dead-end alley wall.  "I'll talk with you later!"

Ashurie didn't hear her, he was now unconscious.  "Ashurie!" Katie yelled.  She ran forwards but was stopped.

"Now, time to shed this skin and show you my true form!" Rose yelled.  She ordered Chains to move back and give her space.  Rosemary began to glow, and parts of her skin began to change.  Her knees, cheeks, back of her hands, and elbows became dragon scales.  Not to mention her teeth, ears, and nails sharpened to a point.  "There's no way you can win, now!"

"How could you?" Katie exclaimed while looking at Taylor treat to Jake's wounds then back over to Ashurie.  "I thought you cared about your brother!"

"Pft, he'll be fine," Chains retorted.  "Plus, you should worry about your own life right now!  Remember this, little girl!  I'm a Metal Magic major."  Chains moved his hands slightly then forwards.

Katie felt great pain then found herself rapped in metal chains.  "H-hey!  Let me go!"

"No, I'm gonna' beat you till ya' scream!" Rosemary declared with an insane look on her face.

Is this really how I'm going to end?  Be killed by a little girl?  Katie thought.  Chains threw Katie, and the chains around her, against the alley wall.  "UGG!"  Oh, Mama,  Katie looked up to the sky, thinking about her deceased mother.  What should I do?

Suddenly and oddly, Katie remembered what her mother told her once when she had scraped her knee.

"Now, now, Katie, sweetie," Katie's mother comforted her little daughter.  "Don't cry.  It's just a little scratch.  Remember, always have a smile on your face and everything will be alright."

"Okay, thanks, Mama," young Katie replied while wiping away her tears.

Suddenly, Katie was pulled back into reality with a surge of pain.  The chains had been taken off of her but she was being attacked by Rosemary's shadow puppets.  Katie once again remembered what her mother had said.  I will always smile, for you Mama.  Katie tried hard to change her face, which was full of pain, into a smile.

"Huh?" Rosemary mumbled out.  Is-is she smiling?  "What's wrong with you?  Why are you smiling like that?"

"Wh-what?  Oh, my mama said just smile and everything will be alright," Katie explained.  "So I'm gonna' smile, to keep my promise to my mom to keep smiling."

       "What are you talking about?!"

"My whole life, I've been devoted to helping my friends with happiness.  That's how I love," Katie finished.  "As the song goes, 'Smile, smile, smile'."
