Once everyone left us alone, we still didn't release our grip on each other. We couldn't. We wouldn't.

After what must have been forever, Alexis let go first, with me following.

"Alexis... I can't believe this! Is this where you've been all these years?! You didn't even bother to contact me!" I said in disbelief. Anger was starting to take over my whole body. My thoughts and my words. My actions as well, for my fists were clenching and un-clenching themselves.

'Calm down, Gen. She has her reasons just let her speak.' Iris said calmly.

"No it's not like that at all! I've been wanting to contact you all these years. But we couldn't. We aren't allowed to. Everyday we would ask if we could call you, send you a letter, anything to let you know that we were okay. Eventually, we gave up asking everyday but we still asked every week. They said that soon you would e here so we waited patiently."

"Whoa hold up. Who's "we"?"

Alexis didn't give me a name. She just said two simple words, "Follow me."

I did as she told although I was a bit wary of listening to her, as I had not seen her in five years. People change.

We walked down the hallway making twists and turns, it seemed like we would never get to the unknown destination, so eventually I gave up trying to memorize the way and just let my feet take me where Alexis went while my mind was free to wander on its own.

This place is bigger on the inside, I thought to myself, chuckling silently at my little "joke".

Man, I hope Nate isn't worried. But on the other hand it would be sweet if he were worried. Well, minus the whole worrying part.

'Don't worry sweetie. He isn't all that worried about you at all. It's as if you never existed to him. Just a lost and forgotten memory. All he feels is the feeling that you get when you walk into a room and forget what you were looking for, so you completely dismiss the fact.' Chimed in an all too familiar voice.

What do you mean, Iris?

'You shouldn't be asking me to explain anything to you, right now, just let Alexis and Erin do the explaining.'

What? I thought. And I was clearly thinking to myself because Iris didn't bother to answer me.

I immediately am awoken from my thoughts, hearing my name being called. I peer down the hallway, only to see Alexis a good 12-15 feet away from me. How did she get over there so fast? I must've just stopped walking and not realized it amidst my thoughts.

"Come on in," she said gently, " there's someone who wants to see you.

I walked down the hallway, probably faster than Alexis expected me to but I felt drawn towards whatever was in that room and I had to get to it. I had to get to it as fast as I possibly can, for I believe I know what lays beyond that door, and I need to be there.

The moment I stepped foot through the threshold, I knew my suspicions were right.

It was Erin. I found Erin. First Alexis, then Erin, it must have been too much for me to handle because next thing I knew, I was engulfed in darkness.

***********

I tore through the trees, branches smacking my face, rocks tripping me. There's no time. I'm running out of time. Every sound that I hear makes me more and more paranoid.

My sharp and jagged breaths, the sounds of the night, each terrifying me, for I am afraid that he has found me.

Soon, I'm greeted by the pitch black of this moonless night, and time slows down. It feels as if I am stuck to the ground, and gravity is pulling me down, and there's nothing I can do.

He found me.

Those were my only thoughts.

I know how to stop this. I know how to speed time back up. I just need to concentrate.

Breathe in, breathe out.

I put my hand up to my heart. Pounding to a drumbeat all of its own, I force it to slow down which allows me to move faster, defying what he is trying to do.

It is all to soon, but I can barely take the pain. I need to rest.

Giving in to my needs, I stop and sit on a rock, examining my wounds. I cannot see much on this dark night, but what I do see doesn't look very good. I'm going to have some scars.

There is a knife wound in my side and my thigh, both are still bleeding, all too much if you ask me. Since I sat down, I decide to rip some of the cloth off of my jacket and tightly wrap up my wounds.

A bullet had grazed my shoulder, but you only need your legs for running so I did not try to staunch the blood flow, for it was no where near as bad as my other punctures.

Time to run again.

Pushing my beat-up self up, I sprinted from that rock. He is so much closer than before. I can hear him. He is calling out my name, taunting me.

"Genesis.... Where are you?"

"Genesis... GENESIS!"

No. I need to get away from him. I have to. It's the only way to save everyone.

I force myself to move as fast as I can, trying to outrun him.

Eventually, I come out of the forest greeted by the sounds of the highway, instantly calming me down because there is now something for me to hear besides my own thoughts.

I wait for the opportune moment, then I sprint. My legs pumping, blood rushing through my veins, adrenalin giving me more strength. I weave between cars, dodging trucks, and leaping over the boundaries on the sides of the road.

All to soon, I find my surroundings to be yet again, a forest.

By now I really don't care where I am as long as I am away from him, everything will be fine. Nothing will happen and no one would be harmed.

By now, I am out of the forest and in a small town.

Surely he won't think to look for me here, I try to convince myself

I find a run-down motel, and pay for the cheap room to spend the night. I walk into the room, happy with what I find, because even if this place is dirty and grimy, it's way better than sleeping in the woods.

I scan the room. In the corner there's the door to the bathroom, there's a chair with a disgusting looking stain on it, a small kitchen, and a bed.

I walk into the bathroom and clean up my wounds.

My stomach growls so I decide to find some food.

I walk out of the room, to find a Seven Eleven across the street. Finally! Food!

I cross the street looking both ways, even though this place seems deserted, I just need to make sure he hasn't found me yet.

When I walk into the Seven Eleven, I rush over to the Slurpees. I fill up a cup of blue raspberry Slurpee and grab a hotdog. I walk up to the counter. And set down my items to take the money out of my pocket.

I look up to ask the cashier if this I have enough money. Before I can utter a word, I see him.

"Hello Genesis, my dear. You've been a naughty girl, running away from me, haven't you? But now I've found you, and it is time to play."

*******

Suddenly my eyes pop open and my head snaps up.

I am greeted by Alexis' face when I woke up. And someone else's.

"There's some things that we need to explain to you..."

Hey everyone! We've got another surprise haven't we? What do you think Alexis and Erin need to tell Genesis? Who IS Erin?

As who is that guy Genesis is running away from? Any ideas?

I'll try to publish the next chapter as soon as possible.
