Callista's Point of View:
Eli's raging face was in front of me while he spit Spanish out at me, obviously furious. "That's the real emerald isn't it?" Clara asked nervously as Eli examined the emerald once again. For whatever reason, Eli told us that we had scammed him.
"No you idiots! Do you think that you could fool me?" He screeched, his tan face getting red again. Clara and I exchanged worried expressions.
"We swear that is the emerald that we found." I said steadily.
"Liars! It doesn't work!" He boomed.
"What doesn't work? It's just an emerald." I replied, confused.
"Stupid girls, this is a turning point for all supernaturals! We can rule the world! And I'm going to start it." He cackled.
"What would the real emerald do then?" Clara asked. Eli took a few calming breaths.
"It can hypnotize you. I can use it to build an army, to conquer nations!" He stormed.
"So you're saying there's another emerald in the mine?" I asked. He nodded.
"Yes. And you're going to find it."
"Small problem." Clara mumbled.
"What?" Eli demanded.
"You've seen the mine, it's completely destroyed." She explained. He huffed and pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Completely?" He raged. I nodded.
"There was a bomb. When we found it, it was set to go off in three minutes." Clara explained.
Eli suddenly smiled a sickly grin. "That means that the emerald is out. Someone has it." He muttered. "Who else went with you?" He asked.
"Odessa. Why?" I asked.
"Because she has it."
"What? No she doesn't. We left her behind. She's dead." I hoped my words weren't true.
"She got out, she's alive!" Eli grinned victoriously.
All of a sudden the doorbell rang. "Easton? Go answer the door." Eli demanded calmly. Easton came out of the kitchen, careful not to make eye contact with us, and opened the door.
It revealed Lenon, the man who threatened me. "Hello Eli. I understand that you're looking for something?" He asked, winking at me. Clara squirmed slightly and nudged my elbow numerous times as Eli turned around.
"Lenon. How nice to see you." Eli said, going over to shake his hand. "Do you know where the seer is?"
"Not exactly. Lukas was very careful on masking their trail. But they do have the emerald." Lenon said, looking Eli dead in the eye.
"You're lying." Eli replied coldly. "My oldest friend, betraying me."
"I wouldn't call it betraying, Eli. More like side switching."
"Where are they?" Eli asked, more forcibly now.
"Somewhere that you'd not think to look." Lenon smirked.
"Tell me or I'll kill them both." Eli said, pointing to Clara and I. Easton winced and looked down.
"You think I care about them?" Lenon retorted. "Kill them for all I care."
"You don't think I'll do it?" Eli questioned, taking a step towards Clara and me. We instinctively took a step back. Eli noticed.
"Easton, restrain them." He ordered. Easton slowly walked over to us, grabbing our arms gently, and holding them behind our backs.
