'Those four words made my heart soar across the world. But did she truly mean them? My heart was beating fast, and I felt the whole atmosphere warm up. I knew she was feeling uncomfortable as was I, but how do we drop it.'
"So?" I ask and she goes stiff then turns to me.
"What?" She says as she looks away. We were now eating dinner. I had cooked a pasta with white cheddar, so it was pretty much a fancier Mac and cheese. She takes a bite, and stops for a second.
"What's the matter?" I ask nervously.
"This. Is. Amazing!" She then takes another bite. Then another, and another. I smile with satisfaction.
"Glad you like it." I say confidently. She stops and looks at me with the spoon in her mouth, then looks away slightly with a tint of pink on her cheeks. Trying to look angry.
"Whatever. It doesn't make it special if you made it so don't get cocky." She muffles with the spoon on her mouth. I can't help but laugh.
"Apparently it does if you say it's amazing. Anything that comes from you is special to me." I smirk, and she turns a deeper red.
"Leave me alone." She muffles again. Finally she pulls the spoon out. She grabs the napkin in front of her and wipes her face. "Done." She turns to me. "You eat like a child you know that."
"What are you talking about I'm the champion at eating. Not a drop left anywhere." I say feeling very proud of myself. I see her grab another napkin.
"Oh really then what's this?" She wipes my chin, and shows me a small piece of pasta clinging to it. "Champion, huh?" She looks at me and that's when we realize how close we were to one another.
Taylor's POV
I can feel his warm breath on my skin making me tense up, but I couldn't move. I was frozen. We stared into each others eyes. 'What is happening? Is everything turning around for me finally? If so, then I'm happy.' He realizes our position, he clears his throat and pulls back. I could feel a sting in my heart. 'Why did he pull back?'
"Um....thanks. I'm gonna go, and run some errands. I-i'll be back." He says as he gets up, and puts his dishes in the sink. He rinses his hands, and dries them.
"Okay. I gotta go anyway." I say a bit high in hopes he'll stop me.
"Oh really. Okay. Good luck with that." He grabs his coat. "See ya." Then the gap expands between us. I stand there feeling hurt.
"Tch. That's how he always is. Hell any guy would be that nervous around a beautiful girl like you." I recognize the voice. "But unfortunately he doesn't know how to handle this type of situation. Well hell this had never happened to him before."
"What are you talking about Carson?" I say trying to hide my hurt. I hear his footsteps move closer. I can feel the heat radiating from him.
"He's in love you idiot." He says as he noogies my head. I stand there confused.
"With who?" I say knowing I'd regret not knowing. I feel Carson's hand grabbing the top of my head and turning my face to him.
"You are completely oblivious aren't you?" I shrug my shoulders. "Whose the only person who ever hangs out with him?" He asks frustrated.
"Wait what are you saying he's in love with me!?" I shout.
"Be quiet you dunce. " he says covering my mouth. "Anyway so."
"So what?" I muffled. He pulls his hand away.
"Do you feel the same for Brandon?" I tense up. I look away.
