Ugh so I don't feel great, but I really want to write. I'm not like that sick, just like you know that feeling when like you feel like too hot or just like a sick feeling or something. Also my sister's friend needs to go home from their sleepover and of course she chose to do this at 10:30 PM, which is when people in my house are usually sleeping and it's quiet and better to write, but they're up being loud. Sorry for ranting, I'm just really irritable right now. Maybe I'm sick. And the author's note is at the beginning for once. Ugh this is too long. I'll actually get started now.

Eliza was sick. She had the flu, and it sucked. She wanted to play her violin, and go to school, and hang out with her boyfriends, but no. She couldn't do anything except lay in bed and watch Stranger Things and sniffle and cough and take her covers on and off, trying to find a comfortable temperature.

Every day after they finished school, John and Alex would come to visit her. They would bring soup, or ice cream, or a good movie, or a good book, but they wouldn't come too close to her, and they wouldn't kiss her as they usually would.

Later on in the evening, Angelica or Peggy would bring her dinner, usually soup, and sit with her while she ate it. Peggy would chatter to her about random things, trying to take her mind off the sickness; school, Maria, books, TV shows, Maria, their friends, celebrities, issues in the world, Maria. Angelica would just sit next to her and stroke her forehead, sometimes singing or humming quietly. Angelica would kiss her on the cheek or the forehead before leaving the room. Eliza appreciated Peggy, John, and Alex's efforts, but Angelica was the one who made her feel a little bit better.

Eliza laid in bed, turning her pillow over for the thousandth time as she watched Eleven stuff her face with Eggos. She couldn't wait to feel better.

Peggy walked into the park where she was meeting Maria. She was as nervous as she had been on their very first date. She was finally going to ask Maria... the question. She saw Maria sitting on the edge of the fountain and waved at her, walking over to her.

"Hey Peggy!" said Maria.

"Hey Maria!" responded Peggy. "Come take a walk with me, I want to talk to you."

They got up from the fountain and walked around the park, eventually laying down in the grass, holding hands.

"So, what is it that you want to talk about?" asked Maria, sitting up.

Peggy sat up, facing Maria. "I want to ask you a question. Would you like to be my girlfriend?"

"Yes!" said Maria happily. "Um... Can I kiss you?"

"Definitely," said Peggy, grinning. Maria leaned forward and kissed Peggy. It was magical.

Suddenly Maria started laughing. Peggy laughed too. Neither of them could believe how lucky they were. They fell back into the grass, laughing and holding hands, both of them happy and at peace with the world.

Eliza felt better. She could finally get out of bed, and was able to practice violin again. She listened to Peggy go on and on about Maria, laughing with Angelica at Peggy's enthusiasm. She was excited to go back to school. But most of all, she was excited to finally be able to be with John and Alex again.

Eliza walked into the school, immediately spotting John and Alex chatting by her locker. Alex was the first to notice her.

Alex's face lit up. "Eliza!" he screamed, running up to her and throwing her arms around her neck, kissing her passionately.

"Eliza!" squealed John, picking her up. She wrapped her legs around his waist and kissed him.

Alex took one of Eliza's hands, and John took the other. They walked off down the hall to their class, chatting and laughing and being completely in love.
