The boat made a loud thud as it stopped on the rocky banks of a mysterious island. Most of the ground was ash and dark brown rock with a thick layer of fog at the height of a mans knees. Up the mountain there were old burnt houses with smashed windows and all vegetation was eradicated. A few Fire Ravens where circling a dead carcass of a gigantic sea serpent. A young boy, around the age of seventeen stepped off the boat holding his helmet in one hand and a small bronze shield in the other. He had silver hair with a slight goatee, a rather tall and reasonably muscular body frame. He also had blue eyes with a touch of bright green when he was in the dark. He looked around the abandoned wasteland and then shut his eyes for a split second to try and remember why he was here. Another boy, around sixteen years of age also stepped off the boat. However he was a small weedy kid with a terrible haircut and afraid of everything that moved.

"What are we even doing here," said the weedy boy named Simon.
"My family was last seen in the northern shores," said Cesar.
"So you think that your family is going to be in this wasteland," said Simon loudly.
"Well no one else would come here, it's been infested by the Fire King," Cesar said looking at his helmet. There were many dents in one side of the helmet, it was pretty much useless so Cesar threw it back into the boat. "Cesar, what is it?" asked Simon.

Cesar was frozen for a while, just staring at the mountain with disgust.

"Nothing my helmets busted, it's only use is melting it down into scrap," said Cesar.
"Is this where your family last was seen?" asked Simon.
"I don't know, they might not be alive after all, this will be the last place we visit," said Cesar.

They were halfway up the mountain, the fog was rising and becoming thicker and thicker by each minute.
"Cesar, this fog is really creepy," said Simon worried.
"For once, I don't want to go any further," said Cesar in disappointment.
"Your scared, that's not like you," said Simon. "You are normally fearless."
"Yeah, I got news for you mate, everyone feels fear once in there lives, but I've learned to push past it," said Cesar.

Simon looked down at his feet, he wanted to be a strong, fearless warrior but he knew that if he was to try, he would die.

"So how did you become a strong warrior?" Simon asked.

Cesar stopped after he heard what sounded like breaking ceramic under his foot, he slowly lifted his foot up off of what looked like a tiny ceramic box. He bent down slowly to pick up the pieces, until he saw what looked like a tribal crest. He shut his eyes again and tried to remember things from his past, but nothing came up.

"A near death experience," Cesar said as he looked around the area for any enemies.
"What's wrong, you seem tense?" Simon asked.
"We aren't safe here," said Cesar turning around to go back.
"Oh thanks captain obvious," said Simon, he looked at the house on a small ledge and discovered a clan logo. He walked towards it to investigate. Cesar turned around to see where he was going until he saw the logo as well, he looked up on the roof of the house to see a dark figure crouching, ready to jump down.

"Simon! Look out!" Cesar said running towards Simon to defend him.

Simon looked up to see a figure looking back at him, the figure dropped down on top of Simon while many other figures surrounded Cesar.

"Well Cesar I guess this is another pickle we have gotten ourselves into," said Simon.
"Shut up and stop squirming you little runt," said the figure on top of Simon.

Cesar reached for his knife but was quickly tackled by many men. Cesar then heard clapping coming from a figure wearing black battle armour, he had blond hair with yellow eyes.

"We meet again Cesar," said the blond haired guy. "Oh I guess you probably don't recognise me, I will have to update you on what has happened to your family and everyone that used to live in this village, hahahahaha."

Cesar was doing his best to get the men off him but everything he tried just made it worse.

"Take 'em to the guild," said the blond guy who was obviously the leader of this clan.

Cesar looked around the room he was in, it was dark and had a foul smell to it, he attempted to get up but then soon realised that he was strapped to a bench. A door opened a few meters away from Cesar and the leader walked in followed by a large muscular man who looked like a king.
"Here is the rat we found sneaking around the village looking for things to steal," said the blond.
"Thanks Sean, I haven't seen this boy since......." Said the King.

"Let go of me, or my army will find you and destroy your empire you worthless scumbag," said Cesar. It was obvious that he was lying, his army was destroyed years ago and he turned up on the shores of a village filled with many people that were defenders of the ancient temple of an outstanding warrior.

"Hahahaha, your army was destroyed years ago along with your parents," said the  King.
"Your empire will fall one day, and you will look back to this day and tell yourself, he was right," said Cesar with a large amount of anger.

"Yeah, who's going to stop my empire," said the King. "You, your dead family, ohhhh I know. It will be that little runt that you constantly hang with."
"You leave my family out of it," said Cesar.
"You know, your father was a coward the day that my empire took over this land, he couldn't save your family, he couldn't save his army, but he managed to send you to a better place," said the King.

The King was really pissing Cesar off now, he could feel the anger swelling inside of him, he could feel his face tingling and his muscles growing larger by the minute.

"My village will not be intimidated by you," said Cesar.
"Your village," said the King. "You have finally found refuge, it's a shame I am sending a portion of my army to burn it to the ground HAHAHAHAHA."

Cesar managed to wriggle just enough to reach a sharp piece of metal on the bench he was tied to. As he was saying many things to the King, he was busy sliding the rope up and down the metal until it broke with an almost silent snap. The King heard it and attempted to stab Cesar with a knife but missed and cut most of the rope. Cesar grabbed the knife and quickly cut the rest of the rope.

"Cesar, all I have to do is call for help and all my men will be in this room drowning you in your own blood," said the King standing a few meters away from Cesar.
"You are extremely mistaken," said Cesar, his heart was pounding in his chest and everything was getting slower and slower, this was a strategy he learned from the best warriors of his fathers army. He hadn't mastered it yet and he had spent four years trying to master it, but no progress has been made.

"Cesar, if you give up now, you can get one of the top jobs in my army," said the King.
"As tempting as that sounds, I will have to pass on the joining part," said Cesar. "I have a better proposal, how about I don't kill you, and you let me and my friend go free without any harm."
"Hahahaha, too late," said the King.

A wall opened like it were a door and in the next room was Simon, in a torture chair. Electric currents were being sent through him, he was screaming and his body was jolting every second.

Cesar stabbed the King in the shoulder and ran toward Simon to free him. Although the electricity was unbearable, he managed to free Simon. Smoke was rising off of there bodies and they could only hobble.

"How did you survive that? asked Cesar.
"I don't know, I guess there was a part of me that needed to stay alive," said Simon.
