I walked to my parents room and slowly opened the door. I poked my head in to see them  both sleeping in their bed. It was a relief. I closed the door and quietly and ran to the front and out to the driveway. Ashley was there leaning against his car in the darkness. I must say, he looked very mysterious and I liked that. I ran over to him and hugged him around his neck.

“I’ve missed you so much.” I said happily. He hugged me back.

“I missed you, too.” He told me and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

I hopped into his car and he did the same thing. He started it and pulled out of the driveway.

“So where are we going?” he asked me. I shrugged.

“Anywhere is fine.” He smiled suspiciously.

“Okay.” was all he said. He pulled into the cinema parking lot.

“How about a movie?” He asked. I shook my head. I hatedmovies. They’ve just never been my thing and he knew that I didn’t like them unless it was Batman, of course.

We walked into the movie theatre and he bought tickets to a horror movie. I wasn’t even sure what it was called, but it was a horror movie.

We sat next to each other and the movie started. I was a little nervous because I wasn’t sure if anyone from my school was here. This was why I liked having our dates in private. I mean no one else knew that we were together and I didn’t want that to change.

We watched as the serial murderer chanced after the girl. Typical. We all knew what was going to happen. She fell on the ground in the woods. By this time I was really into the movie and didn’t want her to die. I watched him get closer and closer and then BAM! He stabbed her. I jumped and Ashley hugged me tight.

“You’re safe in my arms.” he whispered. I blushed.

I did feel safe his arms. It was now obvious why he chose to see this movie. I loved him so much.

We walked out of the movie theatre holding hands. Two of the cool guys from my school walked up to us.

“Oh. Look at what we got here. Two homos havin’ a sweet time together?” he said as he pushed me.

“Don’t touch him.” Ashley said as he got up close to him.

“Oh what are you gonna do? Kiss me?” he asked. Ashley pushed him to ground and his friend punch Ash in the face. They got into a fist fight right in front of the cinema.

“Stop it!” I yelled over and over. “Ash, stop!” Some big guy walked over to us and separated them.

“You boys go home, now!” he yelled to them. I really didn’t know what to do. I watched the two guys walk away from us and I helped Ashley up.

I helped him up and he angrily walked to the car leaving me to catch up with him. I awkwardly got in as he started the car. We were silent for a few minutes.

“I’m sorry.” I broke the silence. It took a while before he responded.

“It’s okay, Andy. It wasn’t your fault anyways. I just overreacted to those worthless assholes.” He kept his eyes on the road. “I’m glad we went to the movies together.” he said, happier as he took my hand.

“I’m glad, too.” I replied happily.

I looked at the radio which also had the time. It was midnight. Hopefully my parents hadn’t woken up from their sleep so that I could sneak back in. He pulled into my driveway and just sat there with the car off, still holding my hand. He looked into my eyes.

“I love you so much Andy.” Instead of replying I just kissed him as passionately as I could. When our lips moved away I saw his beautiful smile. He moved my hair out of my eyes.

“You’re perfect.” He whispered to me which made me blush.

“Oh, and you’re not?” I know. So romantic of me. He laughed and got out of the car to open the door for me. What a gentleman. He also walked me to the door. He wrapped his arms around my waste and kissed me.

“I’m sorry for getting into that fight tonight.” he told me. i nodded.

“It’s okay. I mean you just wanted to defend me. It’s fine.” He nodded but then he let go of me.

“Well I have to go. My step sister might notice I’m gone and get suspicious.”

“Okay.” I told him sweetly and I kissed his soft lips once again before he left.

I snuck back into my house going unnoticed. I was sure that my parents didn’t know that I had left the house. I jumped into my bed and couldn’t go to sleep because I was thinking about Ashley and how this night went.

No one knows that I’m in love with another boy. I’m afraid that my parents won’t accept me and I already know that my peers won’t. They already hate me for being an “emo freak” so I don’t need to give them another reason to throw books at my head during class.

Ashley isn’t even in my grade. He’s two years older than me and much more well liked by people. Sure he isn’t Mr. Popular or a jock but he’s well liked by almost everyone and I didn’t want to ruin his reputation by dating him. I mean I’d already ruin it if I was a girl because I’m just hated my everyone.

There are only, like, three people in the whole school that like me. Including Ashley. Just my art teacher, Mr. Jones, and my best friend, Dylan. I haven’t told him any of this either. I’m just afraid that he might leave me too. But it also kills me inside when I have to lie to him. But I’ll live through it, hopefully. I’ll tell him one day.
