Chapter 3- Burning Down

Chapter 3

Burning Down

Flames flicker, leaving shadows on the walls and floor of the hollow. A orange fluffy Pokemon sits next to the pile of burning leaves and logs. As the flame slowly goes out, the Pokemon called Flareon, sends a spit of fire to the pile, lighting it and the clearing around it. A sound echos behind him, and a large shadow fills the area. A Charizard stands snearing in the corner, flexing his claws. The Flareon lets out a long growl, "What do you want Charizard?" 

"I've come for my payment." He smiles sourly. 

"I told you I don't have it." 

"And I told you, that you would pay one way or another." His tail slowly floated down to a piece of dry grass. 

"Don't Charizard! You'll kill innocent Pokemon." 

"And all because of you." His tail, with flickering flames, slowly tapped the grass. The whole clearing was engulfed in flames in a matter of minutes. Charizard flapped his great wings, and flew into the air. Flareon glanced around the clearing, and watched the helpless Pokemon flee for their lives. A small Pokemon runs acrossed the clearing, before a flaming branch falls on him. With a cry of pain, the Pokemon Igglybuff, falls to his feet. Crushed under the branch. 

Flareon let out a gasp, and lunged forward to grab the branch. The struggling Igglybuff leaped up from the ground onto Flareon's back. The Flareon burst out of the clearing, flames following behind him. Once out of the flaming forest, the Flareon and Igglybuff stared back. Their home, the once lush and beautifuly green forest, was now red and black. Burnt and falling trees toppled over. 

Flareon glanced back at Igglybuff, whose eyes were filled with tears. Flareon grabbed Igglybuff from his shoulders, and looked him in the eyes. 

"Are you ok?" He asked. 

"Y-yes..." Igglybuff stammered. 

"Where is your family?" 

"They- They are gone... I lost them in the fire." He let out a sniffle, his eyes glittering with tears. 

"I'm sorry... I can't help you with that..." Flareon sighed. "But you can come with me." 

"Where are you goinng?" 

"To a different forest, a new home..."  

"Yeah, sure." Igglybuff climbed back on Flareon's back, and the two turned away, only giving the forest one glance. The flames glowing behind them.
