"WEIRDO! HEY WEIRDO!" It was the bullies again. Mac quickly tried to run away. He didn't want to deal with them again.
One boy corned him from the front while the other came around his side. He stared as the last bully, the biggest and toughest one, loomed over him. Mac slowly pulled himself close to the wall. "Hey weirdo, you know what time it is?" The boy hissed.
Mac whimpered "I-it's time for second period," he squeaked.
The bully gave a snort "Its punishment time, you know why?" He asked.
The blackish brunette felt his fear rise higher "I t-told on you to headmaster L-Lloyd," Mac flinched at the slamming sound.
The boy smirked "Yep," he said popping the 'p'. Mac went still when the other boy raised a fist. His eyes closed shut as the fist came down.
"May I ask what's going on here?"
All four boys looked to see who has spoken. As if someone had answered Mac's pleads, it was headmaster Lloyd. The small boy gave a loud sigh of relief. The three bigger kids backed away from Mac "Headmaster, we were just talking to Mac about what was today's homework," The biggest lied.
Lloyd despite his age, looked skeptical "You three my office now, Mac I'll speak with you afterwards," he stated. Mac looked down in shame. The bullies seemed to glare at him silently.
Mac sat in the cushioned chair outside the headmaster's office. He could hear an occasional phrase or word as the headmaster yelled."... YOU ARE TO.... SCHOOL REPUTATION... REPSECT ALL..." the door opened as three boys ran out quickly "... AND I BETTER NOT HEAR ABOUT YOU THREE BULLING ANY OTHER STUDENTS!" Headmaster Lloyd yelled as he stepped out of his office. He ran a wrinkled hand through his hair. Lloyd turned to Mac "You may enter now," he said calmly. Mac went in with his bangs covering his scared grey eyes.
Llody sat in the chair behind a large wooden desk. Mac sat on the opposite side. Lloyd intertwined his fingers together "So Mac it's nice to finally meet you, I've heard a lot about your 'special outings' to the Zen garden..."
"But headmaster I-"
"...at night."
Mac clamped his mouth shut. Nobody was ever awake when he went out or was one secretly awake while he faked sleeping? Lloyd looked at Mac calmly "You must wondering how I know?" He asked.
Mac glanced at him through his bangs "Yes," he replied softly.
The older man smiled "Mac, even if most the ninja have passed, your school still has one and I happen to be the headmaster," he stated.
Mac seemed sink into his seat "I know, we learned about you and the others in ninjago history," the boy squeaked.
Lloyd nodded "I'm aware of that, but about your outings, do you care to explain the sudden wind increase?" He asked.
"I fart!" Mac said in a panicked rush.
"Mac, I'm not stupid, I have encountered person who the power to control the wind," Lloyd said.
Mac looked down at his feet, dangling slightly above the ground, curse his shortness. "I've been practicing at the garden because I don't want people to know I'm related to Morro," he confessed.
Lloyd smiled "Don't worry your secret is safe with me, elemental masters stick together, right?" He said.
Mac looked up and gave a weary smile "Right," he said.
Mac crept back to his single room dorm. While other kids went home, talking to other kids about school and their day. Mac was singled out and alone, he didn't have parents to live with like his grandfather Morro. That's why most kids called him weird, he stayed in the school along with other kids who didn't have parents or were runaways and strays. Students said they were weird because Lloyd was sympathetic about the kids since he had lost his father. They had each other but even then Mac was still separate from the kids, he had something they couldn't know. His little elemental secret.
Wind.
