Mac had pinned the guy down "What's your name first off?" He asked.

The guy looked away "phlfop," He mumbled.

Mac raised an eyebrow "Philip?" He repeated.

The guy blushed "It's Pippin," he said.

Mac gave a small snort "Pippin? Who name's their kid Pippin?" He asked.

Pippin gave a look "I got that name from being a ninjroid and get off of me," He stated flatly.  Mac let Pippin go and shut his mouth after that. He looked around the apartment. Pippin dusted himself off "You mentioned about a scroll?" He asked. Mac picked up the scroll from his bag, he unrolled it to the first phrase and showed it to Pippin.

Near lies the child of metal and ice.

Mac and Pippin held a stare for a second. The platinum blond smiled "I'm his grandson," Pippin said. Mac broke into a smile. Pippin grabbed Mac's arm "So who's next?" He asked. Mac unrolled the scroll more.

In the forest find the one hiding in the iron tree

Pippin snapped his fingers "Where was Zane created?" He asked.

Mac thought hard then got the answer "The birch wood forest! His birth place was a giant metal tree!" He exclaimed.

Pippin nodded "Let's get some rest and in the morning, we'll leave," he suggested.

Mac laid on the couch and looked up at the ceiling. His thoughts drifted to headmaster Lloyd. 'Did he get my message or placed the scroll back on the wall? He most likely read it Mac, calm down and rest up after all you've got a lot of walking to do,' he thought. Mac rolled over to his side and closed his eyes. He finally drifted off to sleep after an hour.

Something tapped Mac's shoulder. When he looked to see who it was. Pippin stood over him, silhouetted by the light from a nearby window, his red eye glowing brightly. "Wake up, its time to roll out," he stated.

Pippin looked completely out of place while they walked down the sidewalk but Mac, on the other hand, blended in perfectly. People would be suspicious of the ninjroid if Mac didn't stop talking to him occasionally. "So Pippin, why do you live by yourself?" Mac asked.

Pippin glanced at him through his hood. He shrugged "After spending ten years with a bunch of evil ninjroids I didn't have anywhere to go, no parents, no home, nothing. So I took to the streets," the cyborg explained.

Mac tilted his head "What happened to your parents?" He asked.

Pippin seemed to sink more into a depressed mood "I don't know, my dad was a robot like my grandparents but my mom was a human, then the ninjroids came one night and took me but I don't really remember what happened to my parents," He said, his right hand curled into a tight fist.

Mac frowned "It's alright, my parents abandoned me at the boarding school," the blackish brunette reaasured.

The platinum blond looked at Mac "The boarding school? Isn't that the one where the green Ninja is a teacher?" He asked.

Mac nodded "Yep but he's the headmaster there," the boy stated.

They stopped at a bus stop, a few people were waiting. Pippin leaned on the metal frame "How old are you anyway? You look about 14, maybe 13?"

"I'm 15." Mac stated flatly.

Pippin's eyes widen slightly and he blinked a few times "Oh, wow, your almost as old as me," he said.

Mac raised a questioned eyebrow "How old are you?" He asked.

"16."

"Oh wow," Mac mumbled.

Pippin gave a small laugh. He looked up and down the road, spotting the bus "Here comes our ride," he warned.

------

Mac had rode in a bus before but only to visit places in ninjago city for field trips, never to leave ninjago city. He sat close to the window and stared out to the vast empty dessert. Next to him sat Pippin, he was silent with his hoodie pulled over his face and most likely asleep. Mac felt his eyes droop and realized how tired he was. Mac leaned his cheek to the window and feel asleep.

Someone nudged him "Mac, wake up," they said. Mac grumbled and felt the person nudge him "Wake up! We missed our stop!" The person said louder.

Mac sat up "What?" He asked.

Pippin flinched "Your face!" He said.

Mac rolled his eyes "Funny joke Pippin, what about our stop?" He asked.

Pippin pulled down his hood "We missed it, we're at Jamakai village," he said.

Mac shoot up "Jamakai village? The same village Kai is from?" He asked.

Pippin's red eye dulled "Yeah, what's the big deal?" He countered.

Mac blushed "Sorry, um... it's nothing, let's go!" He stood up and followed Pippin off the bus.

Pippin looked around at the village "We'll need to find a place to stay and start walking in the morning if we want to reach the ice forest before nightfall," he said. Mac felt giddy and Pippin's looked at his smaller friend "Why are you so excited?" He asked.

Mac smiled "I've always wanted to go here, I even have a friend where we can spend the night," he said.

Pippin's smirked "Alright lead the way," he stated. Mac looked at the sky, it was late evening, around six or seven. He started walking to his friend's place.

Mac knocked on the door, waiting for a reply. Pippin stood behind him with his hood back up. The door opened and a boy looked at the two. A smile spread across his face "Mac!" The boy said.
